Summary: I love love LOVE my Sharkoon X-Tatic SP headset! It seems to me that this is a (for the most part) unsung brand. I never see it marketed much. Face it, gamer, if you game when your loved ones are trying to sleep, you simply have to get a headset. Otherwise, it's like WW-III in the mancave. Since I don't do online gaming, I like that the chin mike screws out. The construction is pretty solid. The headband and ear pieces are so soft to slip on. The sound is AMAZING.
Summary: I purchased these headphones February 27, 2012 and on April 5th the mic stopped working. I should have read the reviews first. Of course the return policy expired March 31. I purchased a replacement mic and that arrived damaged. You would thinK spending 62 dollars on a product it would last more than 5 weeks.
Summary: I was excited to buy this gaming headset, in hopes that it would be loud enough. Almost every headset I have bought never seemed to quite reach the volume level I was hoping for. But I will say that this is one of the few headsets that was loud enough for me. The headset looked good, and had pretty good reviews so I thought I would give it a try. The mic quality was decent, it was comfortable, and the sound was actually pretty good.
Summary: ~ UPDATE 2/23/12 ~ After getting in touch with Sharkoon's technical support, I was given instructions to make sure everything was ok on my end (everything was ok on my end) so finally they just said to send them my headset for a replacement. In about a week I received the new headset and it works as good as the original I had. Let's hope it stays that way.
Summary: Well.. after a little over a year. the headset broke above the ear peices just like the TB's the wires from the headset into the Inline AMP are starting to break and are causing problems with the MIC and playback ( distortion ) They are uncomfortable to wear, the sound is great ( WAY Better than the <$100 TB's ) I prefer Sennheisers..
Summary: It was really true, when I was playing an FPS game, I have literally heard sounds that I could never from my little Samsung TV, and I was actually able to pinpoint where the enemies are from their footsteps, them jumping down, and the sound of their gun. The sound is just perfect for me, along with the chat. They give a generous length of cable, which is always a nice plus.
Summary: This headset appears to have been designed for the older PS3 console. The USB will only connect the microphone and voice chat, not the audio stream. To get the audio it requires RCA connections to connect to or tap into. To get this to work with the PS3 Slim you need to have component cables, it will not work when you use HDMI. Alternatively, if your TV has RCA audio out you could use that (seams most newer TV's don't have them anymore).
Summary: I really didn't know what to expect when ordering this headset. I have owned several different sets, Turtle Beach P21, X11-Tritton Ax180, so am familiar with sound output by other brands. I had originally ordered the Tritton Ax720's but sent them back. There was some crackling in the speakers(sounded blown)which turned out to be an issue with the amp. After adjustment I got them to sound real good.
Summary: I've owned the Sharkoon X-Tatic SP headset close to a year now. I mainly bought them because I wanted a comfortable headset I could use with my PS3 for multiple hours that not only fully covered my ear but I could use for gaming purposes. I can say that goal was partially fulfilled. These Sharkoons are compatible with PC, PS3, and Xbox 360, I've only been able to test it with PC and PS3.
This is not the way to go... After 1 month and 19 days.
18 November 2011
Summary: I'm so upset... The mic stopped working after a month and 19 days. I'm going to send this back... I don't care for a refund... I got just what I paid for, a cheap headset... Really don't recommend buying.
