RS 180 Transmitter Failure

GL, Crutchfield
22 January 2013
  • Summary: Owned the RS 180 for 2 years, 1 month and the transmitter failed. Transmitter will not turn on.
  • Pros: none
  • Cons: Awfully expensive equipment to have fail so quickly. Might as well buy another brand than pay the repair cost.

Don't Purchase

BBoop, B&H Photo
7 May 2012
  • Excerpt: I recently had entire new systems installed in my small bedroom, all of which are high end. My systems were purchased and installed by a professional. I decided on the Sennheiser RS 180 Wireless Digital Headphone mostly because of the transmission range of up to 320 feet. I can't even move 25 feet into another room without these expensive headphones losing sound. What a disappointment.

Would not buy again

John, B&H Photo
29 April 2012
  • Excerpt: Touted as having a greater sound range than their other products, don't believe it. This makes the 4th Sennheiser product I have purchased and it is the worst while supposedly being their best.
  • Cons: Not Durable, Poor Reception

29 August 2014
  • Summary: If you listen to solo instrumentals, piano solo in particular, then you will find little joy in using these headphones - each time a sustain drops below a (quite high) level then the transmitter electronics will mute the sound resulting in fractures to the sound stream lasting anything from a tenth of a second up to a second or more, the restart then abruptly cuts in to the attack as the next note is played.

Reluctantly returning these...

A. Taylor "farheadingley", Amazon
10 December 2012
  • Summary: These headphones are stunning. The quality is superb and they are incredibly comfortable to wear. Unfortunately the range is pretty poor. Wandering around my house causes them to 'drop out' regularly and predictably. I'm attempting to replace my clapped out Sennheiser HDR45s, these are reliable even at the bottom of my garden. Speaking to Sennheiser, they informed me that the RS120s are probably what I need as a replacement. So I'm reluctantly returning the RS180s.

Fehlkonstruktion

kairubenbauer, eBay.de
19 August 2014
