Conclusion: I purchased a Sennheiser RS 170 to help me hear better when I watch movies and television on my Sam Sung & Bose surround sound system. I listen with the head set and everyone else in the room can hear through the normal sound system....it works great! I highly recommend this headset for anyone (like me) who is having trouble with hearing loss!....Bose said it wouldn't work, Best Buy said it wouldn't ....Sennheiser said it would and it does!...
Excerpt: This is the third pair of Sennheiser wireless headphones I've owned over the years and I've been very pleased with the sound quality produced by all of them. My only issue with the RS 170's is the fit; they're very comfortable, however it would be nice if the side expansion pieces were slightly longer like Sennheiser's RS 220.
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound, Lightweight
Conclusion: My headphones just arrived today. First time for ordering from Sonic Electronix. Fast delivery. Took everything out of the box, hooked it up to my Toshiba 42" HD Flat screen. Connected everything, put batteries in headphones, turned transmitter on and Hallelujah, they work like a charm. Took 5 minutes to hook it up. Very easy to assemble. I put a DVD in my Laptop that is connected to my television with HDMI cable, hit the Surround Sound on and WOW ! ! !
Excerpt: I am hard of hearing and have been relying on Sennheiser RS120 wireless headset for about three years. When I first started using the RS120 I thought it was a great improvement to be able to hear the TV and understand what was being said. The RS120's are hard to tune and are sometimes full of static. I have only had RS170's for about a week and I have been wowed by the improvement they made. No more static and no more fine tuning.
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Easy to set up and use, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound, Lightweight, Stylish
Cons: Headset Controls Very Sma, Headset Volume Small
Summary: My wife and I both use Sennheiser RS-160, RS-170 and RS-180 wireless headphones. I use the RS-160 in the shack with my transceivers. We both use the RS-170 and RS-180 for listening to old time radio shows every evening, allowing us to listen without interruption regardless of what we do or where we move about in the house. Very light weight and comfortable. Extremely durable, considering they are so light weight.
