SENNHEISER RS 170 Headphones

Sergei, Pixmania
10 January 2011
  • Excerpt: This pair of headphones surprised me. The headphones are comfortable to wear for a couple hours. The surround feature was nice and the bass boost really gave this pair some very good bass. I use the pair for watching movies and they held up very well on the most challenging scenes. Sound was crystal clear all over my house.
  • Pros: high quality sound, good transmitter range, highly reliable reception
  • Cons: None

Good, but...

B. Wiesner "thesmoker", Amazon
9 January 2011
  • Summary: I have an entertainment centre which comprises a tv with wireless n lan, a blu-ray player with wireless n lan, a ps3 with with wireless n lan and bluetooth peripherals, a pc with wireless n lan and bluetooth peripherals each of which is connected by hdmi to the tv and then the RS170 is connected to the headphone socket of the tv. I really need to use headphones because I live in a flat with intra-floor noise issues.

fantastic

Hazzy, Amazon
3 January 2011
  • Summary: These headphones are fantastic. The digital surround sound is far superior to the cinema sound from the speakers connected to my tv. and audio equipment. Clear and crisp sound. People have said in reviews that sometimes the sound dissappears, however if you point the charger to where you are you do not lose the signal. I can sit in the garden about 40 to 50 metres away from the charger with no loss of sound.

Sennheister RS170 Quality Counts

Mr Black, Amazon
30 December 2010
  • Summary: The Sennheister RS170 is a quality product made by a brand with years of experience in making headphones. I use these to listen to with a media centre PC hooked up to my T.V. I mainly use them at night so not to disturb anyone.(The noise leakage is minimum if not turned up too high which is a plus point for me) The headphones have a solid build, but not too heavy and come with a very comfortable padding and adjustable band.

I have Hearing difficulties and these solve the problem.

M. Beckett "Mikeretyred", Amazon
29 November 2010
  • Summary: I am profoundly deaf, without hearing aids I'm lost. Like so many people with hearing difficulties I keep buying headphones in the hope I shall at last be able to hear the TV or audio properly, only to be so often disappointed. So many wired or wireless headphones produce too little, or too muffled sound or produce it at such power it hurts. I need really crisp sound without a tremendous bass.

ok, not great.

m, Amazon
15 November 2010
  • Summary: the sound quality when the headpones work is typical Sennheiser and good. the problem is it is just when they work. the transmitter is just 2m away and directly line of sight, yet frequently cuts out, if I walk just 10m away it is gone altogether. Also i cannot begin to explain how annoying the buttons are them, they are really small and close together. So you cannot do it by feel and you have to keep taking the headphones off to adjust them.

Wow

G. Kenyon "bookbuyer", Amazon
6 November 2010
  • Summary: Best headphones I have ever had ,even better than my Bose headphones and half the price I can walk anywhere around the house even in the garden while listening to music . As I appear to be going slightly deaf I was always listening to the television on high volume (so Her Indoors informs me) now she can have the volume at a lower level and I just turn up the headphones .

Sennheiser RS 170 Closed Digital Wireless Headphone

Marcus, Amazon
27 October 2010
  • Summary: I was not sure whether to rate these 2 out of 5 or 3 out of 5; either way I was not as impressed as I thought that I was going to be. I previously had a set of HRD 130's which were RF headphone and not digital like these Sennheiser RS 170's but none the less the best advantage that the radio frequencyhad over these digital was the range. I have to say that I am neither impressed with the range nor happy about the fact that it occasionally drops connection in my home.

Typical Sennheiser

wildweasel, Amazon
24 October 2010
  • Summary: These were purchased to replace my old Technics wireless headphones. I'm an Audio/Visul Technician and use all Sennheiser products at work, so knew I was looking at quality straightaway. I was not dissapointed. I would have even paid good money for the packageing even it was quality made. They look good and sound even better.

Value for money , Go and buy them.

Irishtvhawk, Amazon
17 October 2010
  • Summary: What a great pair of headphones! My very fist pair of wireless headfones and I am very happy with them. First things first I found them uncormfortable to begin with, (I even contemplated returning them), but on the 2nd day I started getting used to them and now I find them very cormfortable! They are not too heavy and look and feel of good quality. I even prefer watching a film on my own now because I get to wear these cans.
