Excerpt: I needed headphones to use with my TV so I could listen to it during the night and early morning, at the same time muting the TV sound, so the lady in the upstairs condo would not be bothered by the TV. Before buying this set, I had bought 3 others in town, all around $100-130. They all had problems like static, buzzing, and cutting off. It became obvious to me that I would have to pay more. This Sennheiser 170 has been ideal.
Pros: Added features, Comfortable, Compact Design, Easy Hook Up, Easy Set up, Easy To Use, Great Sound Quality
Summary: Great sounding pair of headphones. They are light & comfortable. As many reviewers have stated, the controls are small & hard to use w/ the headphones on, but I use them for listening to music & rarely make any volume changes. The range on these headphones is pretty good. I use them primarily in my woodshop I built in a corner of my automotive shop- my automotive shop is metal building over 120 foot long & these will work all over my shop & in both of my offices.
Summary: Brought to use with TV, very good for this.
Pros: Great wireless signal, very easy to set up.
Cons: Control buttons on the headphones difficult to use while wearing, sound quality is very good but not great, but everyone varies in what sounds the best and I am used to high quality studio grade phones
Summary: I've used these headphones for about 3 years now. Used to have some Sony ones but they were garbage in their wireless capability. These produce superb sound quality you will not be disappointed with. Excellent range, never had them cut out or lose sound quality. You will not be disappointed. Unless you buy something else...
Pros: Sound quality, works well every time, consistent rock solid. You can connect several headphones to 1 base transmitter!
Cons: Cups get a little uncomfortable after hours, maybe they all do. Control buttons are way too small with no differentiating symbol to feel. Takes a while to get used to them so you can work them without taking the headset off. Getting extra headsets to work sometimes takes finesse with your timing in "hitting" the power button on the unit and the headsets can have a delay so you might think the 2nd headset is not working. Give it 10 seconds anyhoo before you try the pow...
