Has Interference and annoying to use

sa4321234, CNET
24 December 2014
  • Summary: I'm disappointed in them, persistent interference or something noise in the background all the time. The noise is producible by changing channels with the remote, seems to have something to do with the picture changing on the screen, and it then continues with no remote activity nearly all the time, cutting in and out, it is not a continuous noise but is mostly there all the time, I think cutting in and out with changes in the picture on the screen.
  • Pros: Good sound reproduction
  • Cons: Continual Interference noise and poor button design

RS170 Wireless Headphones are

19 December 2014
  • Excerpt: I am hard of hearing and have been relying on Sennheiser RS120 wireless headset for about three years. When I first started using the RS120 I thought it was a great improvement to be able to hear the TV and understand what was being said. The RS120's are hard to tune and are sometimes full of static. I have only had RS170's for about a week and I have been wowed by the improvement they made. No more static and no more fine tuning.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Easy to set up and use, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound, Lightweight, Stylish
  • Cons: Headset Controls Very Sma, Headset Volume Small

Great headphones!

  • Excerpt: The sound from the headphones is great. They appear to be of good build quality. I wouldn't expect anything else from Sennheiser. My only complainant is the padding on the ear pads could be better. They start to bother my head after a couple of hours.
  • Pros: Good Bass, Great Sound, Lightweight, Stylish

Sounds Great

24 August 2014
  • Excerpt: Easy hook up. Plenty of volume. Fits comfortable over the head and ears pads are soft. I did find the power button on the headsets a little small to work. This would have been a 5 star rating if it wasn't for the power button.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Compact Design, Easy To Use, Great Sound Quality

Super

  • Summary: My wife and I both use Sennheiser RS-160, RS-170 and RS-180 wireless headphones. I use the RS-160 in the shack with my transceivers. We both use the RS-170 and RS-180 for listening to old time radio shows every evening, allowing us to listen without interruption regardless of what we do or where we move about in the house. Very light weight and comfortable. Extremely durable, considering they are so light weight.

Good Buy

Mark, B&H Photo
29 June 2014
  • Excerpt: I use the RS 170's to watch T.V. late night without disturbing anyone in the house sleeping. The RS 170 is well made and the ear pads are soft and comfortable for wearing for several hours. they have a surround sound and bass boost buttons as well as volume. I've only listened to music once so far (one of the T.V sat. stations) but sound was good. comes with the new standard 3.5 plugin with an adapter for old 1/4 stereo plug and red/white adaptor.

Great Sound!

  • Conclusion: Bought this for myself and a supplemental headphones (HDR170) for my girlfriend. Over the years I bought a few headphones from Sennheiser and always was satisfied. This one doesn't disappoint either. Sound is superb and I never loss the signal from one end of the house to the other. Like someone said about hearing loss it gives us the opportunity to adjust the volume to our own taste. They are lightweight and work on 2 AAA battery.

Plug in headphones and they mute TV...Tv issue not head phones. Love them so far....Oh and thanks to my loving wife for the Fathers Day gift.. Now I can enjoy Horror movies while she's in bed sleeping at a loud volume!!

Sennheiser RS 170

Charles from Rusk.Tx, Sonic Electronix
12 June 2014
  • Conclusion: I brought these over a month ago, I have a very bad hearing loss and with the tv volume all the way up I could hear ok but still couldn't understand what was said and my wife couldn't stay in the same room because the tv was so loud. Now with the head phone she can turn the volume to where she wants it and I can set my RS170 where I want them, the voice is so must clearer and I can understand what is said.
