Great Wireless Sound

Frank B., Crutchfield

  • Summary: The best wireless headphones.. good fit, sound is excellent. Crisp and clear, with or without surround. Bass reproduction is adequate. My set is plugged in a Onkyo surround system, can adjust bass and treble if needed. Awesome !
  • Pros: Sound adjustments on headphones. Easy to use, rechargeable dock. Long range wireless signal.

Excellent Sound

Joe L, Crutchfield
13 February 2011
  • Summary: I am a little hard-of-hearing; the headphones solved all my problems with that. Great sound quality. The wireless feature allows me to move around the house [even into the basement] with no loss of sound quality. When watching television, I use them all of the time.

Wow!

K6RIM, eHam.net
12 February 2011
  • Summary: Just purchased these wireless headphones for use with TV, not ham radio. They replace Radio Shack wireless headphones which stopped working and fell apart. (And were VERY uncomfortable). The RS-170 is a QUALITY product and works as advertised. Extremely comfortable - almost as comfortable as Bose Quiet Comfort headphones. Audio is terrific. Range is way more than needed. The headphones easily fit onto the charger dock, and the light tells you when they are fully charged.

An amazing purchase

  • Excerpt: I had a wireless IR sony headset from many years back. That had so much static that it was driving me mad. After an extensive amount of reaearch and many second opinions, my mind was made up. There is no static or interference at all. Since this is a 2.4 Wifi system, it did clash with my linksys dualband router for a little while.
  • Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Versatile
  • Cons: None

Really nice and clear

Bob, Crutchfield
9 February 2011
  • Summary: WOW! The sound is amazing! I had no idea of what I was missing. The clarity and detail the RS 170's provide is awesome! I can hear every detail from music and TV programs. The wireless works well as there is absolutely zero hiss or humming. The unexpected bonus with these headphones is that I can walk all around the house and never miss anything from whatever source I'm listening to. The headphones are comfortable and reduce outside sound well.

Great for Workouts

Bill R, Crutchfield
5 February 2011
  • Summary: I bought these headphones to replace an old pair of headphones that I use when working out in the morning. For this, the ear cups are a plus, it helps block out the noise of the exercise equipment. I have it set up so that I can listen to the news or morning shows as I work out, and I turn the TV volume down so I don't disturb others in the house - plus the ear cups don't block all of the sound, so it's odd to hear the sound in the background also.

Great 'phones, wireless or not

Billy T., B&H Photo
13 January 2011
  • Excerpt: These wireless headphones sound better than any corded set I own, with the exception of my ancient Koss electrostatics, which are so heavy they should come with a neck brace. The Sennheisers on the other hand are so light and comfortable that I can wear them for hours. Excellent isolation from ambient sound. The "surround" feature is worthwhile. It takes the music out of the middle of my head (a typical stereo headphone effect) and relocates it pleasingly.
  • Pros: Comfortable, Easy To Configure, Great sound, Lightweight
  • Cons: Expensive

  • Excerpt: These have lived up to all the reviews and research that I did. I chose them over the Pioneers and the Sonys- great quality- sounds like surround sound.
