Outstanding

Guy W., Crutchfield

  • Summary: After 6 mo. of almost daily use I am amazed how well they work. I use them on dvds, tv, and cds. They have made me cut the cord for good. My 30 year old Koss headphones are setting still.
  • Pros: Plug and go. Sound is very good. Nor cord. Bass boost.
  • Cons: Buttons take some getting use to.

Good sound but be wary

  • Excerpt: First of all, the sound is great. This is a good unit for a single user. However, getting 2 sets to synch at the same time is often difficult. Additionally, the headset becomes uncomfortable and hot when in prolonged use. The controls on the earpiece are difficult and cumbersome to use without taking the unit off the ears.

  • Summary: These are enjoyable headphones as the surround really envelopes and clarity shines. Overall sound lacks a little richness, highs are overpowering. Nice punchy bass, not too much. After 1.5 to 2 hours they are fatiguing as most wireless headsets are. They are very light weight and comfortable. Having trouble with range in my house. It disconnects at 25 to 30 feet. Great for music or movies and even iphone.
  • Pros: Surround and Bass Boost
  • Cons: fatiguing, short range

Great sound/worth every penny

  • Excerpt: After wasting money on TV Ears headphones, and doing A LOT of research on numerous websites before spending money on these headphones, I chose these Sennheiser headphones and have not regretted it at all. The headphones are comfy on your head and the sound is crystal clear. I bought these primarily for watching late night tv while my husband is busy snoring. The headphones drown out all external noise and as stated before, the audio is crystal clear.

  • Summary: I'm using these to listen to our TV; they are connected to the headphone out.   I bought them to replace my failed Sony MDR-RF4000K, but I'm not too sure if it was worth it. Compared to Sony, I can't really say there is *any* improvement, maybe only when playing GT5 - Sony had a very weird problem when sound was "travelling" between ears, possibly because it was dolby-encoded? Not sure, but these don't seem to have the same problem.
  • Pros: Sound fairly decent
  • Cons: Cut out when input volume is low; cups are too shallow for my ears, manual switch on

Excellent Sound

  • Summary: I am a little hard-of-hearing; the headphones solved all my problems with that. Great sound quality. The wireless feature allows me to move around the house [even into the basement] with no loss of sound quality. When watching television, I use them all of the time.

Really nice and clear

  • Summary: WOW! The sound is amazing! I had no idea of what I was missing. The clarity and detail the RS 170's provide is awesome! I can hear every detail from music and TV programs. The wireless works well as there is absolutely zero hiss or humming. The unexpected bonus with these headphones is that I can walk all around the house and never miss anything from whatever source I'm listening to. The headphones are comfortable and reduce outside sound well.

Wow!

  • Summary: Just purchased these wireless headphones for use with TV, not ham radio. They replace Radio Shack wireless headphones which stopped working and fell apart. (And were VERY uncomfortable). The RS-170 is a QUALITY product and works as advertised. Extremely comfortable - almost as comfortable as Bose Quiet Comfort headphones. Audio is terrific. Range is way more than needed. The headphones easily fit onto the charger dock, and the light tells you when they are fully charged.

An amazing purchase

  • Excerpt: I had a wireless IR sony headset from many years back. That had so much static that it was driving me mad. After an extensive amount of reaearch and many second opinions, my mind was made up. There is no static or interference at all. Since this is a 2.4 Wifi system, it did clash with my linksys dualband router for a little while.
  • Pros: Durable, Lightweight, Versatile
  • Cons: None
