Summary: I am hard of hearing and i purchased wireless headphones to help me hear speech on my TV. These headphones are the second pair I have purcheaed, the first ones were the 120, they worked well enough but brok in 6 months. I went ahead and purchased the 170's as I did not want to repeat the problem I had with the 120's. Though the 170's sound much better, they still have the same design weakness as the 120's (cheap plastic connectors holding the headphones on the headband).
Pros: Excellent sound quality these makes it easy to understand recorded voices, ease of use, very comfortable fit, excellent range.
Cons: Very cheap plastic construction. Easy to snap off (break) the earphone when adjusting. Awkward placement of controls on the earpiece, you have to remove headphones completely to make adjustments to the sound output.
Excerpt: Mostly used for TV. Had a pair of S**y headphones that I loved but drop outs were too often. Thought they souned great but compaired to these...nah. The Senn's have a much better sound. And I think they call it "Kleer" technology?? It makes all the difference in the world. No drop outs. They are rated at 60' but I got better range then that. I had walls between the phones and the transmitter and no problem. I highly recomend them! And B&H Photo also.
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Bass, Good Value, Great Sound, Lightweight
Summary: I have been using these for a little over a year now. I bought them to replace my 900 mhz headset, which I was very happy with for many years. I agree with all the comments on having to take headset off to press buttons. I find the surrond sound button ineffective and the bass button doesnt do a whole lot. I use these for movie listening late at night. I find when it comes to action movies the speakers get distorted at a medium volume level..
Pros: Comfort, charging, distance
Cons: speaker quality, operating buttons while wearing
Summary: The reason I sought out headphones, and not just any headphones, was because of my neighbors Surround Sound system completely fills my enitre house (upstairs condo that is) with unbearable, vibrating bass. I am hoping (praying) that these headphones will help me to keep the peace (literally) with my neighbor and at the same time, allow me to enjoy movies & music without being an inconsiderate "explitive deleted".
Pros: Overnight Delivery by Newegg - Thank you! 5 Eggs for that.
Cons: Very Comfortable, but a little large for my head. Might be designed more for men?
Summary: With just a little more thought, a good headset could have been a great headset. The volume controls and on/off controls are located in close proximity. That makes it very difficult to adjust the sound level by feel. Putting the on/off switch right between the up/down volume controls was a poor choice. This design could have been better.
Summary: Absolutely wonderful. Gift for my husband who doesn't hear very well and was always missing what was being said during a movie or tv program. I'm a grateful wife who hears very well and is now never asked what was said and winds up missing parts of the program to explain to my husband what he missed. These wonderful head phones were actually a gift for both of us. People I talked to at Crutshfield were very kind and helpful.
Pros: Husband can turn sound up as loud as he wants and I can't hear a thing from the earphones. I can now have the tv at a reasonable sound to suit me.
