Summary: Very good sounding headphones. 3D logic is very balanced, not overpowering or sounding artificial. Bass boost has a very good balance without sounding boomy. There is absolutely no hiss during quiet passages, during music or movies. RS 170 is great for watching TV or movies. Voice is very clear and background music, especially with 3D activated on the headphones, sound seems to be comming from outside of the headphones. The sound is almost 5.1 quality.
Summary: Would have loved a pair of Bose Headphones but thought that £290 was a bit too steep. Anyway had a look around and the next best thing seem to be Sennheiser so after reading reviews of them all decided to splash out for the RS170 and how glad am I that I did? these headphones are awesome, yes they are maybe a little heavy but at least they keep your ears warm!!.
Summary: The performance of the headphone is more than I expected. No hissing in the background and the sound in all level, high or low is crip. However, it seems to be designed for music listening. When I use it to watch movies, sound streaming seems to be disconnected when there is no sound in the background or between conversation. Other than this, I am satisfied with this product.
Summary: Well thought out, at first a little tight on my fat, bulbous head, but got better after a couple of weeks. Bass boost is great for movies. Buttons are laid out logically on the right ear; you just remember where the buttons are and sweep your fingers along to find the right one. Nice feature: when you are done, you don't have to shut the headphones off, just put them on the charging stand and they both shut off after a couple of minutes.
Summary: This product actually exceeded my expectations. I was very impressed to discover that I was able to use them in my garage while washing my one of my four luxury cars being that the base is in on the third floor's Master bedroom. My only deception is that I cannot use the headset while driving to my weekly polo meet in Stanvenger which is approximately 3 kilometers from my chalet.. Pity... Cheers!
Summary: I bought the Sennheisser RS 170 with additional headphone HDR 170 so that my wife and I could both enjoy better clarity hearing on TV. This was to replace the HDR 140 I had. With the previous HDR 140 you could leave the room and still hear the TV. With the HDR 170 you cannot. You must remain in sight of the base station. Also, if one person wearing headphones leaves the room it cuts off the sound to the remaining person still watching TV with the other set!
