Sennheiser RS 160

CNET
19 April 2014
  • Summary: The Sennheiser RS 160s may be rather pricey, and they lack some of the fancy features of similarly priced rivals, but they deliver simply gorgeous sound quality
  • Cons: Volume control is rather fiddly; no wired option.

  • Conclusion: Another winner from audio over-achiever Sennheiser. They're not quite sonically perfect but for how well the idea has been executed this pair of wireless wonders gets our stamp of approval.
  • Pros: Aside from the obvious appeal of going wire-free, the RS160s has a bunch of other clever features that really impressed us. Setup is a doddle: plug the wireless transmitter into your sound source and the mains – though it can run on batteries too – and you're then free as a bird to lose yourself in your favourite tunes up to 20m away with the ultra-comfy RS160s wrapped around your head. The headphone unit is powered by AA batteries, but they're rechargable and you can...
  • Cons: These babies are far from small, and though they are really comfortable you might feel like you've got a couple of sofas wrapped around your ears. And while the sound quality overall is very strong, we did feel there was a little bit lacking in the booty-shaking bass department.

  • Excerpt: The Sennheiser RS 160 headphones are a pair of wireless headphones that came with rechargeable batteries when I purchased them months ago. They have a detachable cable that comes with a 1/8 inch connector. There is a digital volume control and a mute function on them as well. The audio comes through these headphones very clean for them to be aff...

Sennheiser RS 160

What Hi-Fi?
15 August 2010
  • Excerpt: Portability isn't something you usually expect from RF headphones, yet that's what the Sennheiser RS 160s offer. Rather than doubling-up as a charge cradle, the transmitter, like the headphones, can run off two AAA batteries, allowing you to hit the streets with wireless tunes. With a full charge the headphone batteries should last 24 hours, while the transmitter will keep going for 120 hours.
  • Pros: Can run off batteries, crisp, clean presentation
  • Cons: A touch too much hardness and aggression at the top end

Sennheiser RS 160 headphones review

Pocket Lint
23 February 2010
  • Excerpt: The Sennheiser RS 160 are part of the company's digital wireless series, letting you enjoy your music without strangling yourself with cable. The RS 160 are of the over-the-ear type, giving you a full headphone and a separate transmitter station.
  • Pros: Great sounding audio, comfort, build quality, portability options
  • Cons: Can't bypass the wireless function and plug straight in, pricey

  • Pros: Batterimulighed for senderen, God batteritid, Udmærket lyd
  • Cons: Ingen opladestation, Dårlig placeret volumenkontrol
