Great Lightweight Headphones!

ChrisB, Crutchfield

  • Summary: I am an audiophile from way back (I am 49 as of this writing). I have owned Sennheiser Headphones since the early 80's, and in my opinion nobody makes a better headphone than Sennheiser. I have a full size, enclse the ear pair of Sennheiser noise cancelling headphones, and love them. The sound quality is much better than my wife's pair of Bose Quiet-comfort that she bought at the same time. Noise cancellation is similar for both. I bought this pair for my niece.
  • Pros: Small, lightweight and awesome sound one would expect from Sennheiser headphones. Less expensive and less intrusive than full ear enclosing 'phones.
  • Cons: Not quite as good at noise cancelling as my full enclosed ear headphones, but that is expected for on-the-ear 'phones. Would have preferred a hard case to the pouch for travelling.

Big sound - light weight

  • Summary: Just received my headphones and I am very happy. As I was taking the headphones out of the box, I was concerned with the side of the headphone pads as they are smaller than what you see on other Noise Canceling headphones. But when I put them on I immediately noticed that the a significant drop in room noise, and even more when I turned on the power.
  • Pros: Great sound, light weight, and fold into a small travel size
  • Cons: Would be nice if they had a microphone

Bose Move over these are better

Robert, Crutchfield

  • Summary: I've heard the Bose and bought these instead. Smaller, light weight and foldable in a nice case. Great sounding. If you travel a bit and want to stay light then this is the headset. Nice and comfortable. I did a 16 hour flight from Newark to Singapore with these and it was great. The Noise cancelling is on the cord a little annoying but not so terrible. If you bump it you get a thumping sound so clip it to your shirt.

excellent value

  • Summary: These are an excellent value for the price, compared to other noise cancelling headphones. There are trade-offs, however. These block out less noise than over the ear versions but are more comfortable. Also, the batter;y compartment is somewhat bulky and clumsy to handle, although the tangle of wires is easily managed if one wraps extra wire around the pocket clip of the battery holder.

  • Summary: I did a lot of research before purchasing noise canceling headphones for myself. I wanted them mainly for my long oversees fligths, but also for use at home while working on my computer. I am glad I chose Sennheiser PXC250. The sound quality is great and the noise blocking on the airplane was amazing! They are a little tight on my head, but fit perfect for my husband. He is planning on borrowing them for his next trip.
