Summary: Just collected my new PC163D from Amazon, which was mailed to me in Spain and arrived within three days of ordering and delivered free of charge. Great service. Well done Amazon! I needed to upgrade my existing Sandbergs as they were getting very worn. The market for gaming headsets is a maze but in the end I decided to go for these as I know and trust Sennheiser, the spec looked good and the reviews suggested they were light and comfortable.
Summary: The small device G4ME3D improves the sound really dramatic. Even without G4ME3D the sound is good (in comparison with cheaper products from Sennheiser - of which I had in the past 2 years, 3; all broken due to cable damage) The single cable for headphone and mic look quite stable and are as thick as the wire in front. Adheres well to the head and has a comfortable fit - even after hours:) Even the bass sounds great for a headset!
Summary: Let me start off by saying that I think Sennheiser manufacture superb, high-quality products, which typically, I'd swear by when considering any headphone purchase (I don't want to offend any Sennheiser aficionados). So it was with excitement and anticipation that I awaited delivery of the PC 163D Gaming Headset - again, superb service from Amazon! The quality of the packaging, as you'd expect from Sennheiser, is of a very high standard and exudes quality from the start.
Summary: I got these to use as a USB headset for my PS3 and I'm so glad I did! Here's what I liked about my Sennheisers: - The sound - it's amazing! - Brilliant for 1st person shooters eg, COD! I found I could hear players trying to sneak up on me, the direction of bullets, etc - light weight - good quality mike (adjustable) - because it's cabled you never have the annoyance of your bluetooth head set running out of battery during an intense online battle But love em as I do,...
Summary: This absolutely rocks. The sound is fantastic, it surrounds you completely and you really fell like you are standing in the game when sounds come from behind or move around. Gamers should be aware that this is not true surround sound, but the illusion is amazing. You would no doubt want the real surround sound ones if you tried them side by side, but these create a pretty good approximation and I like that you can use these as stereo headphones as well.
Summary: These are comfortable over long periods, good sound quality, but not up to the sound quality or comfort of dedicated Sennheiser music headphones such as the HD 448. The sound is not 'true' surround sound - at the end of the day, it's just a stereo jack into the USB box and another for the microphone. It does give some illusion of surround, but not as effective as true multi-channel headphones.
Summary: You have to give these five stars 'cos they are a quality piece of PC audio equipment. Not just for gaming they attach as standard using the separate green and red channels for headphones and microphone. Alternatively use the USB adapter supplied. Skype conversations are clear and equally the sound quality delivered from the attached microphone is excellent. Used for long duration for music or movies they also perform well with a high performance and comfort level.
Summary: All-in-one makes for practicality of use and they are light to wear and padded with vlevet for prolonged use Excellent sound quality, can be used to listen to music too, just as good as stereo speakers.. Bit expensive but worth it for professionals such as DJs who are going to use it for longer periods of time. All in all I was quite impressed with this product. Cancels outside noise and even has an atttached microphone.
Summary: I've always liked Sennheiser earphones but never had such high-spec ones as this PC 163D model. The 7.1 'surround' sound effect is great and the adjustable microphone is perfect for Skype conversations. I much prefer the 'on ear' design of these headphones and the padding all around makes them so comfortable to wear. I think of Sennheiser being to audio equipment what BMW is to cars. Expensive but top quality.
