Summary: This is my first set of Sennheiser headsets. I've heard the term "infamous Sennheiser clamp" and it's real: during the first month or so of use the headband was like a tightly wound spring - I could definitely feel it squeezing my head.
Pros: I am not an audiophile so I can't comment on how precise the sound is; however, in my four years of gaming with these I have never had a problem with the sound quality. At normal volume both game sounds and VOIP participants were crisp and clearly understood. No complaints of sound leakage to oth...
Cons: The inline volume control. I've ran over the regular part of the cord due to its length many times without issue, but the connections at the volume control (which always sits well above the floor) are flaky: - After about three years of regular use (6-10 hours per week on average) sound started c...
Pros: Good audio quality, good microphone, appreciate the on-off switch for the microphone on the cord. Price seemed good for what you are getting compared to other quality headsets. It also doesnt look overly large or overtly game-y, since I wear these at my office to make phone calls etc (and be on t...
Cons: Microphone stopped working 3 years after purchase. However I was not using the headset for almost a full year. Warranty is 2 years, so thats another $60 I have to spend to replace it. A 3 year life span isnt horrible so I'll give it 4 stars, though if it only lasts through 2 years of use that mig...
Excerpt: I use the headset for conducting and participating in webinars at work. Both the headset and microphone work very well. My only complaint is that my Lenovo laptop has a headphone/microphone combo jack so I had to also buy an adapter for the 2 pin setup that came with the headset.
Summary: The plastic on these is actually pretty solid, should laast a long time if treated proper, ie. not thrown against a wall :) Sound is really good for gaming and pretty good for music and movies. On my large head they are very comfortable.
Pros: Comfy on my rather large head. Good crisp and well balanced sound. Good for gaming and music. Plastic actually feels quite sturdy. Mic is somewhat adjustable.
Cons: Doesn't have the low frequency response that my old Sony Studio headphones had but they still sound very clean and balanced so that is a very small gripe. The mic works great but adjustment is very limited.
Summary: I've had this headset for over a year and it's been my longest lasting headset I've ever had. I've dropped it many times and it still works. I've bought more expensive headsets - up to $80 probably, and none of them have lasted as long as this one!
Pros: perfect sound quality, mic is flexible - can move both up and down or close to far away, volume control and microphone mute on the cord.
Cons: causes ears to hurt after extended use, cable is very short
Summary: I really just needed a microphone but I enjoy watching movies and videos on my computer while others prefer to watch tv. These headphones are great for that but they would be better if they didn't hurt my ears.
Pros: Makes sound go into my ears and the microphone works really well.
Cons: Hurts your ears after a while of extended use. These could be ergonomically better for the user which is why I dropped an egg off this product.
Summary: I mostly bought this for the mic, but I was expecting more from the speakers. My earbuds go louder before clipping, produce sound better, block outside noise almost as well, and have a better frequency response than this headset.
Pros: Sound quality is good, mic sounds great
Cons: Sound quality wasn't what I was hoping for but still good.
Summary: Here are my recommedations: Buy this set if you're looking for a 3.5mm headset with great sound quality. Beware however that the cord must be managed properly, I recently broke my microphone after 2 years due to my chair running over said cord.
Pros: Good sound quality. Adjustable microphone. In-line controls. Long cord.
Cons: Cord a bit too long. In-line controls 1.5 m from headphones. Mute control is a slider that is easily toggled on accident. No USB.
