  • Summary: SENNHEISER does have a reputation for quality as I knew I was getting a quality product since I had their product before. I do recommend these over bulkier brands so far. I just hope they have a long life span.
  • Pros: -Light weight -Comfortable on head and ears -Good sound
  • Cons: -Mic sort of "sticks out" and the rubbery part is supposed to flex closer to your mouth but it still feels a little stiff. You can also accidentally pull at the mic if you take them off in a hurry. -Sound volume feels like it needs to go a notch higher. Sound also distorts if too loud but that co...

Sound Decent, but that's all.

  • Summary: Like I said in the pros, these sound slightly better than my Ovann headset, but just slightly. And when you consider that I only paid eleven dollars for the Ovanns and they are still going strong after three years due to excellent wiring and craftsmanship, I can't recommend these Sennheiser...
  • Pros: These headphones sound very slightly better than my eleven dollar Ovann headset, and are slightly more comfortable.
  • Cons: The cable on these headphones is a tragedy. I equate this cable to the cable on the free earbuds that airlines will give you on international flights. The slightest pull will disconnect the internal connections on the volume control. Microphone is average at best.

Great sound, low quality hardware

Martin B., Newegg
6 February 2016
  • Summary: I have been using Sennheiser headsets for more than 3 decades and their products have always been well manufactured high quality products. The PC 151 is an exception. While the sound quality is good and the headset is comfortable, the build quality is low.
  • Pros: The sound is good and the headset is comfortable.
  • Cons: The front and back pieces of the volume control widgets are not glued or "welded" together. They separate easily into two pieces. One can snap them back together, but unless one is very careful, the very thin wires will be cut. The wires themselves and their connection to the volume control are v...

  • Summary: what else can I say two pairs one for me and one for my daughter and they both broke and she is meticulously care with EVERYTHING she owns. In other words don't touch her stuff...lol. I just felt bad for buying them for her.
  • Pros: I refer to my pro tag she was very good at first but really sucked when she left {and before too ;-] }
  • Cons: I have been a Sennheiser fanatic for 30 years but they like most company's these days take shot cuts now a days. We've had 2 pairs of these and the same thing happened to both. one or two little tugs on that skinny @*& wiring and that's it. I have 2 pairs of cans from another company that I could...

Great except uncomfortable on a large he

Jim, B&H Photo

  • Excerpt: The sound and microphone quality were just fine for gaming, which is what this headset was bought for. But after about an hour's use, it presses into the sides of the head like a clamp. It's tough to find comfortable headsets for large heads -- and sadly, this one is not in that exclusive club.

Good value headset

  • Summary: This is my first set of Sennheiser headsets. I've heard the term "infamous Sennheiser clamp" and it's real: during the first month or so of use the headband was like a tightly wound spring - I could definitely feel it squeezing my head.
  • Pros: I am not an audiophile so I can't comment on how precise the sound is; however, in my four years of gaming with these I have never had a problem with the sound quality. At normal volume both game sounds and VOIP participants were crisp and clearly understood. No complaints of sound leakage to oth...
  • Cons: The inline volume control. I've ran over the regular part of the cord due to its length many times without issue, but the connections at the volume control (which always sits well above the floor) are flaky: - After about three years of regular use (6-10 hours per week on average) sound started c...

  • Pros: These are glorious. By far the best headset I've ever owned. Five years and going strong. Whenever these die, I'm probably going to get them again. Very comfortable even over 12-18 hour sessions. They're large enough to provide immersive sound but they still allow for air to circulate through, me...
  • Cons: The ear pads are not replaceable, and being five years old they're a bit icky at this point. I've tried washing them delicately with soap and water but it's just not enough. I've taken to covering them with socks, so this is no longer an issue. Changing the volume causes static on the input. Usin...

  • Summary: Sennheiser used to build high quality components, but the junk that here being sold here on Newegg is just that; junk!
  • Pros: * comfortable * good sound quality
  • Cons: * very poor build quality * plastic began peeling off of head cushion after a couple years * in-line volume control started to fail after about 1 year
