Not so great

Scott D., Newegg
9 February 2009
  • Pros: Sound Great, good price.
  • Cons: I rarely buy something off newegg without reading the reviews, and I'm sorry I didn't this time. Uncomfortable, top of my ears hurt after some time. Lots of sound leakage, everyone in my office can hear what I'm listening to. Hard to get on and they hang so low that my earrings clank on them whil...

  • Summary: Not durable or comfortable. Look elsewhere.
  • Pros: pretty good sound quality. sennheiser.
  • Cons: The clip hurts the top of your ear after around 45 minutes of wearing. The cord is oddly stiff, which makes them more likely to split. Mine has a split in the cord in at least 3 places.

Decent

Yu-ching C., Newegg
15 May 2007
  • Summary: I have owned several clip-on headphones from Koss, Audio-Technica, and Sony and this is my first try at Sennheiser. Overall, the sound quality is fine among headphones I have tried. However, I found the sound is darker comparing to Koss KSC75 and I can hear more details/bass from KSC75.
  • Pros: Stylish
  • Cons: Fingerprint can easily stay on the cover. Hard to put on. Serious sound leakage. The clip should be larger to make the headphone stay put.

Senngeiser OMX 52

William H., Newegg
6 April 2007
  • Summary: You can bend the white plastic to increase the pressure against your ears, to an extent. But I tried for hours to get them to sound better and it's not possible. Sennheiser is a great company, no doubt, but this is their worst pare of headphones. I was dumb enough not to google them first.
  • Pros: These are extremely attractive and great sounding headphones. But you shouldn't buy them at all :( I liked the design, (took them completely apart) these headphones use an interesting method to increase bass output, but still....
  • Cons: This is the first bad product I have purchased from NewEgg, the problem with these headphones isn't with the speaker system, it's actually the fact that they aren't held close enough to your ears. They sound terrible unless you are constantly pressing them against your ear (comparable with the Ko...

Awesome

Mark G., Newegg

  • Summary: My ears are really sensitive; earbuds get more irritating by the minute, and so do wraparounds that pinch my ears. I got these 2 months ago, because I wanted good quality listening at the gym, where weight and profile were important. They do the job wonderfully.
  • Pros: Comfortable, light-weight, unobtrusive, great sound response, good volume output
  • Cons: They are designed to be compact. If you want to tune out external noise, or want something that can take a beating, consider a bulky pair of cans instead.

  • Summary: I just want to add that the main issue I have with the Sennheiser OMX 52 is comfort, particularly when putting it on. Once it's on though, you almost forget it's there, yet its lightweight factor doesn't mean sound quality is compromised.
  • Pros: See previous
  • Cons: See previous

Aside from its "New & Looks Cool" factor, the Sennheiser OMX 52 is nothing really special

Anonymous, Newegg
16 June 2006
  • Summary: For its price, I'd settle for a decent pair of noise cancelling headphones. If you're after clip-on style earphones like the Sennheiser OMX 52, you might want to try a pair that's already tried and proven.
  • Pros: Looks cool, decent treble & bass, feels more secure than most other earclip type earphones - won't come off that easily (depends on your ears), changeable outer shell.
  • Cons: Not really comfortable (may vary depending on your ears), awkward ear clip (I guarantee most if not everyone will say "how the hell do I put this on correctly"), ear clip slightly hurts/feels stiff until you "wear it in" and get used to it. A bit too expensive (around $xx including shipping) for ...
