Good sound

Nathan H., Newegg
18 May 2012
  • Summary: Only get these if you're going to be using them during activities (working out, sports, running, etc.). If you're not doing that sort of thing I'd spring for a different Sennheiser model, perhaps a CX 495.
  • Pros: Good sound, 90 degree jack (may be a con for some). They stay on your ears securely.
  • Cons: Inline volume adjustment is quite bulky.

Samuel d., Newegg
27 February 2012
  • Summary: these compare to the klipsch s4i that i use to own. so far the klipsch s4i wins in comfort. but these sennheiser ocx 880 are awesome!
  • Pros: -comfort -ear hooks -noise isolation -clear sound and great bass
  • Cons: -volume stick knob plastic. not as accurate. (but still works)

Best I've owned

John G., Newegg
2 February 2012
  • Summary: Love the over-the ear fit that holds them inplace regardless of activity level. I use them especially when running loud power tools (leaf blower, etc.) or riding my motorcycle. With a half-helment and no windshield, high-speed wind noise can be a bit overwelming after a couple of hours.
  • Pros: Excellent quality, good sound, good volume, comfortable, don't fall out.
  • Cons: a little pricy.

A very clear, balanced Sennheiser sound

ANDREW T., Newegg
2 February 2012
  • Pros: There is no bleeding between the frequencies, ie the treble mids and bass are distinctly present.
  • Cons: The balanced presentation might be "too boring" for some.

Bass is fine with proper ear size adapter

Derek F., Newegg
15 December 2011
  • Summary: First time having head-phones like these, first time having noise-canceling headphones as well, but they really help me focus on my online video lectures by my professor. Overall I like them a lot and the case is an amazing touch!
  • Pros: Noise Canceling gets rid of distractions making it easier to focus on what you want to hear. Bass works marvelously if you wear the right size adapter (I wore the smallest one, if you wear it and it has a tendency to push itself out of your ears then its too big) Case is not only stylish but comp...
  • Cons: The bass is so awesome the treble now seems to be too weak...

Comfortable, light, clear sound

Benjamin L., Newegg
7 December 2011
  • Summary: Nice ear buds. Makes me want to sing a long or stand up and dance without the buds falling out. :-)
  • Pros: Sounds very clear at high volumes, comfortable to wear, got it for a lot less than retail from newegg. It comes with nice case.
  • Cons: Doesn't give that loud bass but they are ear buds. Bass sounds good if you fit it tightly on the ear. If you are looking for subwoofer type rumble bass... look somewhere else. These are earbuds, they are good to wear while walking or some physical activity. If you want bass get bigger over the ea...

Excellent for the price

Jordan S., Newegg
1 December 2011
  • Summary: I'd highly recommend these, their frequency response is definitely upper-division. A few dollars extra dollars may be worth it for the extended warranty, but its a small price to pay.
  • Pros: Excellent sound quality, exactly what you would expect from a 150+ dollar plus pair of earbuds. Exceptionally clear sound and surprisingly powerful bass for their size. I suspect that people who criticized this pair bud's bass output didn't spend the time to try all of the earpieces; if its not a...
  • Cons: The wires appear thin and flimsy, and its difficult to squeeze these into their case. This sort of construction screams "get a warranty" to me, just to ensure their longevity.

Update

Ryan B., Newegg
13 October 2011
  • Summary: Sennheiser, it's awesome you provide us with a carrying case, but it shouldn't take me AN HOUR of trying to get it wrapped right.
  • Pros: -same as before, 'cept
  • Cons: Carrying case sucks. How the hell do you wrap the headphones in such a way as to avoid getting the volume control AND the splice guard (where the single wire splits into two) in a position where they can be damaged. Or, in the case of the controller, where the thing will actually make the loop; i...
