The Sennheiser IE 6 is something of an investment.  You purchase one of these and you’ll never need to purchase anything else because it’s that good. Pros and Cons + First-rate sound quality + Balanced audio + Great fitment once seated properly + Great looking canalphones + Cleaning tool and shirt clip is included + Packaging is real nice + Sounds larger than it is - Fitment is done in a particular way - Price will be a hard sell for some (worth the investment)... This is a very disappointing start for Sennheiser's IE range, and it's difficult to find anything positive to say about them. Read more

    • Design, Aluminium Case
    • Hissing, No mid-tones, Over-the-ear support ineffective

Sennheiser's IE6 earphones look very promising, but the price lets them down. At around $200 I was honestly expecting a bit more. They do however match the earphones with a bundle that has you covered which is nice to see. No longer do you have to get third party shirt clips in order get rid of microphonic noise. Sound is very Sennish, very smooth with a good balance between the lows and highs, but ultimately a bit dull. Read more

The Sennheiser IE6 are the lowest in the IE series of Sound Isolating In-Ears however they are great performers and well worth their price tag. The IE6 deliver superb sound quality that will surely out preform many In-Ears in the similar price range, the IE6 have fantastic well balanced bass that isn't overpowering and tight. Read more

I'm 60 and now I know why I downloaded the songs I did to my Ipod. It's hard to find things of value and quality these days. These are great and worth more then I paid for them. Super sound and comfortable. Read more

These sound great, as expected from Sennheiser. To me they're also very comfortable, especially when worn as recommended, with the cable wrapping around the earlobe. However, they're too sensitive, sounding much louder than the Sennheiser PXC 450 NC headphones, for example. If you plan to plug it to airplane audio you will need an adapter and definitely a passive volume control ( Shure EAADPT-KIT Headphone Adapter and Volume Control Kit ), otherwise you'll get too much... I switched from $40 Sony and Sure to this IE6 and I'm glad I did. My first impression was so great and now I can enjoy my music collection while walking my dog. Please notice that you can use IE6 with or without the flexible ears holders. I found using them more comfortable but it is my opinion only. The treble are not clearest but generally you can hear a great sound balance from IE6. Long story short: you won't be dissapointed. Read more

    • Well build, great sound, no extra noise from cables while you walking, comfortable, good base.
    • At this price? none.

Two days ago, my Philips SHE 3650 in-ear earphones finally came to a "halt", after its loyalty with me for three good years and my good maintenance of it. In other words, it's spoilt. What happened was, I was listening to Ne-Yo's 'Because of you' and halfway through the song, the melody became very weird and the song got cut off. My first impression: the MP3 player 's battery is weak. So, I plugged off the earphones , but, I could still hear the song, it's still playing! Read more

    • Nice and stylish over-the-ear design. Silicon adapters better our listening experience.

I bought two sets of these headphones for use when travelling. I was fed up using airline 'phones and not being able to hear dialogue properly. These headphone did the trick. I used these recently on a transatlantic flight and could hear every word of the in-flight movies. Only one drawback, after you've been wearing them for a few hours your ears are a bit sore.
