Excerpt: I have an HD650 and an Audio Technia ATH-M50 at home. The former is set up with a DAC and a headphone amp for music listening, the latter is used with a mix station, set up as a backup for nearfields, when I have to work late at night, or when my wife complains. Now my day job has become so stressful that I need music beyond normal dose of caffeine. At first I brought the HD650. Bad idea, it broadcast so loudly that the whole floor turned against me.
Excerpt: Well it's a fair monitoring headphone. I like the response, although it has less bass. The problem for monitoring is leaking. I have to be very careful not to let the sound leak into microphone in front of my mounth.
Excerpt: With these things on it is hard to hear anything around you, they isolate sound very well, have a very strong build and fold easily into a little carrying case. However I was not impressed with the sound quality. Though these do produce above average sound I was not pleased. They do also clamp onto your head quite hard and though it is adjustable if you loosen them too much they dont isolate sound too well.
Pros: Compact, Durable, Easy To Use, Lightweight, Versatile
Summary: The Jack started to become defective and within a month, no more sound. Luckily, Amazon allowed me to return them. I had them 32 days, and the cutoff was 30 days.
I am torn with purchasing another one or searching for something else.
The sound quality was amazing. I only needed them for home so they were not intended to be used at the gym or during commuting.
I did routinely connect it to my tablet for phone.
Pros: I agree with most of the Pro's with other reviewers. These headphones sound awesome.
Cons: The Jack started to become defective and within a month, no more sound. Luckily, Amazon allowed me to return them. I had them 32 days.
Excerpt: I gave 3 stars because of the color, sound, and the case. -2 stars: the design, as a boom op or especially a one man sound, I like to put my headphone around my neck. Comparing to HD 280 Pro, this headphone reverse swivel and bigger ear cups makes it impossible to achieve that. And I also can't apply my one hand and a head turn putting back the headphone. I don't want to readjust the headphone size to do those tricks, it's not that convinient.
Sadly this greatly increased low end really ruins what would otherwise be an excellent pair of headphones

Summary: Whilst initially I found these headphones to be quite impressive, after some prolonged listening they proved themselves not to be so. The main issue is that the low end frequencies are massively over pronounced, and whilst this sounded okay for some recordings from the 70s which I checked them on (Pink Floyd's "Wish You Were Here" is one of my go-to albums for testing anything) when I tried it with some more recent heavy metal stuff the bottom end became unbearable, even...
Summary: I specifically wanted an over ear headphone, partly due to expectations about comfort for extended use. Having tried some in shops (not this model) and read other positive reviews I chose this model. The headphones fit quite tight although I assume they'll ease up a little with use. Sound quality is fine although I find I have to raise sound levels above those I would use for other earphones.
