Summary: I'm a music technologist. and superior sound quality from the headphones is crucial to produce master class products. I've used different headphones throughout the years and I've stuck with Sennheiser for it's superb monitoring capabilities. This has a flat response. Nothing is tweaked, what u hear from the headphones is what u get. Smooth blend of the lows and the Highs. also very comfortable on the ears. can listen for longer and increase productivity.
Summary: When I came to buying some new headphones I spent a long time researching, starting with Sennheiser and Sony as they are brands I have used before. I have previously used The HD 280 for sound engineering at university and found them very balanced and not to biased to bass or treble and almost bought them until I saw these beauties! The ability to collapse them and the free zip-case that came with them swayed it for me as I now carry them with me everywhere I go.
Summary: After trying a few sennheiser headphones (including the wireless version, which left a background hum when no sound was playing - so were sent back) to play my electric guitar quietly at home. I settled for these for following reasons; PROS: - The sound recreation is extremely crisp, clear and sharp with a nice balance of bass. The best I've heared in fact which is why I settled for these.
Summary: I did a fair bit of research to find a quality set of headphones for studio use at a reasonable price. I can't understand anyone giving less than four stars in their reviews if they have a fully functioning pair of these headphones. I think they are great, sound is excellent, bass response is great and not overpowering and unlike some I like the flexibility of the curly lead. Fit and comfort is good with pretty good isolation from external sounds.
Summary: These headphones are just awesome. After a few hours of research I found these ones and (in their price category) there is no real concurrence. As I am no professional, I can only speak for "normal" users, but these headphones of the well known German firm Sennheiser are just amazing.
Sennheiser HD 380 Pro Professional Monitoring Headphones

Summary: I brought these headphones as replacement and improvement on my old HD 205 headphones. After 2 years of service the 205's had failed at the jack; some kind of electrical connection failure. Shame, because for the money they are very good. One of the reason's I brought the 380's is because of the replaceable cable; it is really annoying when something simple like that kills a perfectly good piece of equipment with no chance of repair.
Summary: These Sennheiser's where my first pair of cans, and they didn't dissapoint at all: SOUND: I always find that over ear headphone review concentrate and the build quality and style, rather than the sound. Therefore hopefully this more in-depth review of the sound will help you to pick the right headphones for you. So..
Summary: The headphones were everything I hoped for, and more...but unfortunately they fit a little too tight on the head which leads to your ears getting a bit sweaty if you're in a warm room. Also the cord is a bit annoying as its curled, I'm going to get that sorted and replaced soon. All those points are superficial in regards to the actual quality of the headphones - which s fantastic. Conclusion - def buy this but maybe think twice if your studio is very warm..
Summary: The sound from these cans is superb and detailed. The quality is as good as my now rather ancient HD 595s, which I've used as my "reference" phones for some years, however, the bass is quite a lot more prominent. If you like rock music, these are a good choice for you! I've used a variety of sources, including an iPod, a Zune, computer, amplifier and in-flight entertainment systems and had good sound with plenty of volume from all these sources.
Summary: Great sound quality. Good separation and detail. Uncoloured frequency response across the wide frequency range. And so on... The other reviews say enough about the sound. I was slightly disappointed in the look of the headphones when I first opened them. Seemed a bit too much plastic in the build, but this was mainly because they felt so light. When I looked at them in detail the finish is fine.
