On balance, we'd say the sound is better with musical styles like rock, upbeat jazz and lively pop than with classical, which shows up the frequency response irregularities rather more, but this is a revealing and enjoyable transducer with pretty much any music. Read more

While most of the headphones in this test are DJ oriented with a nod towards production, these HD 380 Pros are very much suited to high quality listening to audio, but can also be used in the booth. So I was quite happy to get a pair in the post, as it allowed me to bridge the gap if you like - to see if more audiophile cans do cut it in the rough world of DJing. I was torn between the HD 280's and the 380's. They had the 280's out on display and they sounded very clean and had crisp highs even compared to the Monster Beats. I actually liked them over the beats. But I was curious to how the 380's could sound any better. After a few times of stopping into the Musical Instruments Store at Best Buy Lancaster and being ready to make a purchase on some recording studio gear, my curiousity got the best of the guys back in M.I and they... I DJ and produce music. These headphones are perfect for both of those. They are built very well and will not break. They are also perfect for production because the Highs, Mids, and Lows can be heard as they should. The headphones also come with a really cool case that is pretty sturdy itself. I love this product and Sennheiser has me sold as far as headphones go. Great product! Read more

They completely envelope your ears, which is something I always look for in headphones. For the price/performance ratio I do not think that these can be beaten, and are certainly far better than the Bose AE2's which they replaced. Read more

    • Amazing sound quality, these are truly monitoring headphones, I have never heard this good of a sound outside of a professional studio using very expensive monitors. T...
    • As others have said they are a bit tight, but not much. You really stop noticing it once you stop thinking about it.

After 3 previous pairs of(high quality) Sennheiser headphones, I can safely say these are my favorite pair. The product is entirely durable, the snapping method feels very strong after 3 months of nearly constant wear. The product contains box packaging sealing The headphones, tough/zip case in which the headphones snap to a mould. Also there is a 1/4" Adapter.
