Summary: I had a pair of these when I was a kid, and I used them daily for maybe eight years. Quiet music, loud music, even as monitors when I was a sound technician (= VERY loud sound). They could take anything, and anything would sound perfect in them. Then, last year, they broke. I was dismayed. From perfect sound to silence. I never handled them very carefully, so I wasn't surprised. But I needed a new pair!
Summary: Well, I bought these yesterday, used in good condition. When I tried them they sounded really good. When I listened to them at home, I started to find that in many songs (rock, pop, classical, with choirs, etc) the treble was almost unbearable, they produced like a sizzed sound, sssssss, that where too aggressive to my ears. I couldn't believe that coming from not inexpensive headsets I could be hearing what I was hearing. I returned it to the seller.
Summary: I have the Sennheiser H570 for close to 7 years now. It still delivers the same amazing sound like when it was new. I can hear every note from every instrument with it. When I play video games, I constantly look behind me. I swear somebody or something is breathing on my neck. The clarity is absolutely frightening. Even though it is full sized, it is light as a feather. Superbly comfortable.
Summary: I've owned these headphones for now over 4 years, and I am still amazed at the clarity and the absolutely beautiful sounds they produce. I currently have the headphones hooked up to my Soundblaster Audigy card, set to Surround Sound, and it just sounds absolutely fantastic. Music, games, movies... what have you. These things are durable as hell, as well.
Summary: I've had the HD570s for over a year now and I use them EVERYDAY. I originally thought 100+ was too much for headphones, but I never regret purchasing these! The headphones are very comfortable and the sound quality is phenomenal. I highly highly recommend these to everyone!
Summary: This headphone is far from satisfactory, especially for me, because I listen to violin a lot. The high is treble like needle, which is rather disturbing. Although the total balance is fairly good, the over-bright feature repels me a lot. Seriously, I do NOT recommend HD570 for classical music lovers.
Summary: These headphones are really comfortable, and sound OK, but the cord they come with is really awful. The 1/8" -> 1/4" adapter is flaky, and started giving me problems almost from the beginning. Also, the cord is really thin, so it tends to get wrapped up on everything. And the other day, the right side just stopped working. I can't recommend these headphones...
Summary: My new 570's just arrived, and even not burned in - but they are quite something. - You will hear details and weaknesses in the material that you did not hear before. - You will like the comfort! - You will find the highs a bit exagerated. (for those loosing hearing in the high end, this would be a bonus) - You will find that a weak amp will make them sound like a tweeter... no base or midrange at all!
