Good as the price

Xiao L., Newegg
28 February 2011
  • Summary: To the price of $54.95, the sound quality is way better than I was expecting. Good investment.
  • Pros: Good sound quality and long enough cable.
  • Cons: it is too big compared with my BOSE AE2. it is kind of uncomfortable when lay down with it.

Set my expectations too high

Jon K., Newegg
9 February 2011
  • Summary: I like these headphones and would recommend them but don't expect a steal here.
  • Pros: They sound pretty good (see below); comfortable; sturdy.
  • Cons: I bought these headphones based on the excellent reviews. I was expecting too much I think because the treble could be a little crisper, and the bass a bit punchier.

Awesome sound, long chord

Michael C., Newegg
3 January 2011
  • Summary: I debated between these and the 428 and ended up getting these because the reviews said the sound quality was better. I really wanted the isolation that a closed can offers, but in the end I didn't want the thin chord and I didn't want to sacrifice quality like I did with my Skull Candies (which...
  • Pros: Sound quality for the price is outstanding. I paid just about the same price for a pair of Skull Candy cans and they can't compare to these. They are very, very comfortable and I can wear them all day with no fatigue. Delicious bass and mids.
  • Cons: The chord is very, very long. I have to keep it wrapped with a tie, but it's just an annoyance. More annoying is the 5 inch plug (incl. adapter) when I plug into my laptop or PC jack. And the adapter is NOT iphone friendly, which is a bummer, but I'm not going to walk around with these all that m...

Good for the price

Matthew H., Newegg
25 September 2008
  • Pros: At 30 dollars, these headphones can't be beat. I bought these things YEARS ago, like in 2003 or 2004, and they lasted until a few months ago, and that was because I mistreated them. They are comfortable, durable, and most importantly, they sound good.
  • Cons: At 30 dollars, none. At 70, it might be worth paying the extra 30 to get the 555's.

Sound leakage?

Noah L., Newegg
30 July 2008
  • Summary: For private home use, these would be an great first step into the realm of real audio... but as far as listening to music in the workplace, stick with something that produces a little bit less noise.
  • Pros: Amazing sound quality. This is my first set of good headphones that I've ever owned. It gave me a whole new perspective on the music that I listen to.
  • Cons: It seems that they are leaking A LOT of sound to the outside. From another person's point of view, it seems like I'm listening to the music VERY loudly, but the music I'm hearing is not much louder than what other people close to me are hearing.

Sennheiser HD-515 Headphones

LoganB.Craig, Rate it all!
13 July 2008
  • Summary: Bought these about eight months ago to replace my wireless sennheiser phones that didn't work. These sounded good, but not that good. Not for the price. Strong bass, clear sound, comfortable fit, and excellent sudo-surround. I just think Sennheiser could do better for the price.

Jason C., Newegg

  • Summary: I would get the Icemats over these because of the bass/mic. Very comfortable and well designed. worth the $xx.
  • Pros: First of out of the box I could tell these wern't cheap plastic heaphones like my last ones. Very sturdy, nice headband, VERY comfortable.
  • Cons: No mic, but not expected. Little bass Sound quality is not much better than my last $25 pair of headphones, but still better

Cylanes, Headphone Reviews
26 December 2004
  • Summary: I bought these cans after listening to it in a store. Immediately I was convinced. It has good bass, mids and highs. It`s not the perfect headphone, but it has nothing bad either. I love just the way it is. After 100 hours burn-in it sounded better, not much but better ;)
