Good closed back phones for the buck

  • Excerpt: Not the most comfortable for long periods, but great isolation. I use them for field recording and studio tracking. For the former, they fold up really well, making the kit a little easier to haul around.
  • Pros: Clear Sound, Compact, Good Isolation

Sennheiser rocks!

  • Excerpt: I am a video editor and needed a good set of headphones as my old ones died. I had purchased a cheap set of Skull Candy headphones (I know I know--I was a broke college student so give me a break). The 280s were recommended to me by a friend who is a professional videographer. I must admit these are wonderful. I had hoped for something that was noise-canceling as the Skull Candies were like having two Solo cups on my ears with a string between them.

  • Summary: These were a gift and, after researching all brands, I dont think I could have made a better choice myself.
  • Pros: With the clarity, quality of sound, and comfort combo, these were perfect for my needs. Especially within the price range.
  • Cons: The only con is the heavy cord makes it less mobile.

Worth Every Penny (and then some)

  • Summary: These are really designed more with audio engineers and musicians in mind. I bought these for home studio use and they do the job that I bought them for.. and do it well. Providing a good deal of detail, especially for the money, they have a fairly flat, even response throughout the humanly audible range of frequencies (like good monitor headphones/speakers are supposed to). I'm not saying that they can't be used for pure listening enjoyment.
  • Pros: sound quality, more than decent durability, fairly revealing (mixing/mastering on budget) high quality monitors for music professionals and honest sound for everyone, good value
  • Cons: a hard carrying case would have been cool; a straight cable to compliment the curly one would be nice as well

Nice pair of headphones

  • Excerpt: These seem to be a very nice pair of headphones for a reasonable price. I found them to be comfortable and not overly heavy, and the sound seems clear and well balanced. It is also very nice that they come with a 1/4 inch jack adaptor. They are not the most attractive pair of headphones I have seen, but if you want a decent pair of headphones and don't want to pay hundreds of dollars, these should work just fine.
  • Pros: Clear Sound, Easy To Use
