  • Summary: Nice except for the high frequencies and detail - they just are not strong to my ear. Bass seems lightly exaggerated. Mids are okay. Treble lacking. Detail and clarity not that good. Equalized they are okay. They are small and sturdy, though.

  • Summary: This cans are the 414 of closed headphones, and for live monitoring use. Little, well constructed, supra-aural, comfortable and durable. Punchy sound, almost linear with a little bump in the mid-bass. Mids are good but a little "honky". Good highs but a little grainy.

Fitting Instructions Would Have Helped!! A Eureka Moment was Necessary :-)

D. J. Seton "Dave_S", Amazon
27 January 2015
  • Summary: Bought these on the recommendation of several reviews for the HD-25s, at the same time as ordering my HD-25s. Removing the original leatherette earpads took about 5 seconds - working out how to fit the replacements took about half an hour!

Tip for installing

Mrs S E O'Donnell/ Mr G Odonnell, Amazon
8 January 2015
  • Summary: Thease pads are not the same as the originals that came with my hd25sp's they are a sort of felt and are really comfortable. A tip for fitting them! Turn the Material that holds the pads in place inside out. Press them against the earphones then turn the material back over the headphone.

A worthwhile purchase for any HD25 owner

David Miles, Amazon
7 January 2015
  • Summary: I've had a pair of HD25's for around 10 years and bought these to replace the rather worn out earpads on them. Installation was easy and these are much more comfortable than the 'synthetic leather' ones which originally came with the headphones - they're actually bearable for long periods of use...

Much less effective at blocking external noise

fen, Amazon
13 November 2014
  • Summary: These are definitely more comfortable. However, a major caveat is that they are significantly less effective at blocking external noise than the leatherette earpads that come as standard. I've just swapped back to the originals as I found the new ones intolerable for listening in noisy environments.
