Summary: These are available for $25 + $5 shipping on Amazon right now. They are being replaced by the HD 218i which is the same can with an iPod remote. If you want a good can for cheap now is the time.
I bought these for my wife, she wanted a small nice looking pair of headphones that would provide some degree of isolation and she didn't want me to spend a lot of money. These seem to do the trick for her.
Summary: These headphones were great. I say "were" because I have used them every single night for over a year and they have finally died. I was very impressed with the sound quality and how amazingly comfortable they were. Best headphones i have ever tried/owned. They are easy to carry around in a backpack. They are especially good to sleep with because 1. You cannot hear surrounding sounds 2.
Pros: Amazing, Comfortable, Durable, Easy To Use, Good Sound, Good to sleep with, Lightweight
Summary: I wanted affordable headphones with good sound isolation to replace my iPod touch earphones, something I could stuff into my backpack without worrying about scratches or hits. Soundwise, these phones are fine. They deliver rich bass and balanced mids and highs. Their closed, supraaural design is also both confortable--either for a 45-mins bus ride or for a couple of hours at my desk--and effective in a noisy environment (they block most outside noise and they don't leak...
Pros: Comfortable, Effective noise blocking, Good bass, Good Sound, Lightweight
Cons: Cheap materials, Flimsy cable, Very low quality jack
Summary: I must say nowhere else had I seen the kind of sound wall for headphones that J&R main store has. I went there primarily to buy Sony MDR-XD200 and changed my decision the moment I heard them. From about 30 headphones I listened to, I chose Sennheiser HD218. Crisp and beautifully balanced tone for a sub 50 dollar pair of headphones. The cord isn't too long and that avoids clutter of wires. The only problem is the thin wire - you have to be a bit careful with it.
Pros: Clear Signal, Comfortable, Easy To Use, Good Sound, Lightweight
Summary: The product was not so quite what I expected. I had high expectation with Sennheiser. The noise blocking is amazing. You literally cannot hear any outside noise. But the sound quality is pretty average.
Summary: I am listening through the Sennheiser HD218 Headphones right now. I am currently comparing them to a cheap pair of headphones that I have right here. The cheap pair ($3.88) sound better; they are Coby headphones. The highs are not as clear as they should be and the lows are almost nonexistent. You might here something that sounds like a little bass every now and then. The headphones fit on your ears, pressing down on them. I thought that they would fit around my ears.
Pros: Comfortable, Lightweight
Cons: Cord Too Short, Fragile Cord, Low volume, Poor Sound, Thin Cord, Very Little Bass
Summary: these are just fabulous headphones for the price an din general, the bass is amazing!!! I use it for music and some gaming and they perform great. You can leave these on four hours they are so comfortable.
Pros: Comfortable, Durable, Good Bass, Lightweight, Rich Sound
Summary: Got these elsewhere last Xmas, and the sound is amazing! Most detailed and involving I've ever listened to.. you can pick out every instrument, every backing detail, hear each individual vocal loop.. fantastic.. I've owned some very good hifi over the years, rotel, 4 pairs of B&W, Linn pre, power, and while these headphones can't thump you in the chest like some super floorstanders they will give you the best sound you've been heard, even from your phone.. brilliant!
Pros: clarity and detail
Cons: like all headphones can get warm after a while
Summary: The sound quality and comfort of these headphones is very good for the relatively small outlay of £20. However, the first pair I owned lasted less than a year before one of the headphones ceased to work. Richer Sounds kindly replaced them, but the second pair packed up this week as well, after only 14 months of use.
Pros: the comfort , good rounded sound quality
Cons: they have a limited life , they don't withstand the rigours of travel!
