Excerpt: Great sound, not distorted in the base as a lot of headphones are, not tinny in the high ranges either. A warm and complete sound. I highly recommend these headphones for any use. They are comfy enough to ear at home for long periods, they come with a carry pouch and block sound well enough to be use out and about, they are high enough quality to be used in a professional setting (especially when it comes to music) and all around enjoyable to use.
Summary: So, I had bought this after Christmas from a gift certificate I had received. I was longing to get these phones for myself and wanted to upgrade from a Sennheiser HD 202 (whose wire is already falling appart) and an ATH-RE70 from Audio Technica. These headphones would cost around 4000+ Philippine Pesos in my country. It comes with a coiled 3 meter cable that is threaded on one side for a 6.3mm plug and a nice leatherette pouch for storage.
Pros: Long cord, neutral sounding, 90° swivel on the right earcup, smooth highs, nice crispy mids, good bass, blocks outside noise well, bendy and durable.
Cons: Bass is lacking for a basshead, wire is somewhat a hassle if you're on the go as it drops down, it is hard to find a replacement cable.
Summary: These are probably the best headphones I've ever listened to. I don't buy headphones over $120 so I don't know how they compare to the Ultra-high end; but these are certainly better than any other set I've bought. The isolation is REALLY good; I can use these things--unplugged--as ear-plugs for when I just don't feel like listening to anything at all. Some of the reviews about needing a bit more power is correct--but that's to be expected on a set like this.
Summary: These headphones have a special hinged joint on their right earpice. One intent of this feature is to let DJs move the earpiece aside to monitor ambient club sound. But this feature also works to provide a tight fit for listeners with asymmetrical, odd-shaped heads. I first took notice of this at a Red Sox game at Fenway Park where a large number of Sox fans wore HD215s and were using this feature. They sound great, too.
Summary: I got these for christmas and was blown away by the sound. I've come to learn that these, by design, do sound flat and sometimes I yearn for some more depth. However, I look forward to settling into a task which permits me to don these bad boys. I mostly use them at my desk at work, listening to a very wide variety of mp3s. They sound great with just about everything. They're very comfortable, even though I were eyeglasses. I listen for 2-4 hours at a time.
Summary: I got the Sennheiser HD215's as a christmas present. I had picked them out so I knew what I was getting. In person they were just as good looking as the photos on Sennheiser's site. Looks don't matter too much with headphones though. I wanted them as a better option to the mediocre Koss headphones I was using with my recording studio (Boss BR600).
Summary: These headphones are quite good. I usually don't write reviews (especially if what I will say is essentially the same as what other reviewers have said), but I really felt the need to express my opinion this time because I am so impressed with the performance of this product. First off, I use these headphones both for listening to music and private movie sessions (so as not to disturb the family).
Summary: Brilliant audio range and wonderful frequency response through the whole spectrum. Requires a little bit more power to drive them if you're used to some cheaper headphones. It's easy to understand why Sennheiser labels these as being DJ headphones; The cord is only about three feet long, but it is coiled and extends to more than six feet, perfect for use on a mixing deck.
Summary: These are the best headphones I have ever owned, they're comfortable for wearing for hours at a time, reasonably priced, look great, and filter out ambient noise reasonably well. More or less exactly what I was looking for in a headphone, really adds new depth to music, and are very durable without being too heavy. My only complaint would be that there's no real way to stow the cord, it is coiled so that helps, but its still kinda long for regular mobile use.
Summary: These headphones are exactly what I was looking for. Immediately after putting them on, I noticed that all sound around me was muffled. This, of course, was exactly what I was going for. Not only do they block out little noises around you that would otherwise interrupt your music-listening experience, they block out the unneeded guitar riffs of your apartment-mate who is in the next room over.
