If you're looking for an excellent set of full-sized, closed back stereo headphones, you would be hard pressed to beat the HD 205 for price versus performance. They're built with Sennheiser quality and carry Sennheiser's usual 2-year warranty. The rotatable right earcup is a very useful feature, and the enclosures are well designed and comfortable. The headphones are lightweight (206g) for a full-size set as well. All in all an excellent offering from Sennheiser. Read more

My first impressions of this product were bad. It took me nearly half an hour to unpack the headphones . However, after I was done, I was extremely impressed. It came with a lot of extras that made me proud to have made the purchase. For example, it has an adapter which allows it to be used on multiple formats. It also came with a neat case to hold the headphones . It is a small pouch that has a leather look to it, and the headphones fit in it snugly. Read more

I picked up the Sennheiser HD205 DJ Headphones on sale at $30, but they retail between 40-50 dollars at most retailers. Believe me, the HD205s are a steal at either of those prices. Read more

At £22 these large, over-ear headphones are very affordable, but they certainly don't look cheap. Their headband and ear cups are thickly padded, and the different sections are made from matching matt black plastic with silver highlights. The right-hand driver can rotate forward or backwards, so DJs can listen with one ear. The stiffly sprung headband holds the drivers firmly against your head. Read more

  1. Great Sound Quality

What the duce? I had them in a bag and stepped on them on accident one day. The side that "doesn't swivel" did. I worried I broke them. Turns out I didn't. It may not be designed to, but the left cup will swivel by construction. Found that interesting. I would not recommend that! Read more

    • The audio quality is fantastic. It comes with a mini to major headphone adapter that is attachable via threading and is gold plated.
    • Pressure from the cups can overwhelm but the swivel can help relieve the pressure.
  2. Alright for the price.

I needed a pair of closed headphones to take to work with me. Originally I was taking my Sennheiser HD 515 to work, but found that everyone else didn't enjoy listening to my music :-P. It's probably not fair to my a comparison to the HD 515 which have a very open airy feeling, and feel like they have a much wider cleaner response. But, I was slightly disappointed with the sound quality of these headphones. Read more or see product

  3. Sound is great, comfort is not so great

These headphones have small ear cups and a very tight clamp on your head. I would call my ear and head size right about average. I can wear the phones for about an hour before the pain gets too much. After a 10 minute break, I can put them on again. But the sound is so great for this price-point, I'm willing to tolerate the discomfort. Read more

Design: Sennheiser is known more its functionality than its cutting edge looks, and this set is no different. Although much better looking than some of their other models, the HD205 DJ headphones are not head turners like the Pioneer HDJ-1000 or the Sony MDR-700. The HD205 comes with a long cord, but I was a little disappointed that it was not coiled as I could see it getting in the way during a set. Read more

The Sennheiser HD 205 is one of the best headphones you can get out there for a decent price. I am not an audiophile or a serious sound specialist or something. But I do listen to music almost all the time of my life. Almost all kinda music like Rap, hip-hop, Rock ( my favourite ), Techno and almost all kinda music as long as it is good at keep you entertained. I also listen lot of Indian music, which are quite a feast of instruments and vocals.

The Sennheiser HD 205 does a wonderful job of immersing me in to world of music. I could listen to all the sounds clearly. The bass is so precise and good. I have other headphones and earphones. Also good external speaker setups. But whenever I wanna listen to music I use the Sennheiser HD 205 because everytime I listen from the Sennheiser HD 205, I feel so good.

First day I bought Sennheiser HD 205, I hated it so much coz I cant feel any bass. Also the sound quality was so bad. Feels like a cheap headphone. I thought I just lost a lot of money for these crappy headphone. Then after some weeks the headphones started to sound really good. Especially the quality of sound increased and bass became to sound pretty deep. And now everything is perfect as in perfect. Now I am so happy that I bought these headphones because the quality I get when I listen to these so perfect.

Also when you listen to music, especially a bit louder, these headphones wont hurt your ears. The bass is perfect for music and it is not overpowered. Even when listening to techno mixes, you could feel the base so strong and still wont hurt your ears.

When you listen to movies in Windows media player, I always turn on the SRS WoW effect. This will change the output of these headphones to a more bass oriented output. So you could enjoy a movie as a movie.

Noise cancellation of these headphones are super. And this one time I took these headphones for a trip on train to use with my laptop. After I put the headphones on my head, the surrounding noise actually went down. And when I started listening to music/Movies, I could not even hear a sound from my surroundings. These headphones do a good job of blocking outside noise. But even though it is a wonderful noise cancellation headphone, I would not recommend it for taking outside as it has this long 3m cord which is kind of annoying.

Bottom line is, these headphones are really good for music than it’s for movies.

Pros:

1) Amazing sound quality 2) Wont hurt your ears due to overpowered bass 3) Nice build quality 4) Good noise cancellation 5) Can turn the volume up without hurting your ears. 6) Good price per performance ratio

Cons:

1) It feels a little tight on the head when you wear it. 2) Long cord 3) Need some run time to achieve the full performace ( Burn in time or something)

I hope this review would be helpful those people who are still looking for a review from a regular user’s point for view.
