Summary: Every review I've ever read of these states: "For the price, these can't be beat." And I agree, but "for the price" is a relevant caveat. Bass is pronounced, more so than my MDR-V6's, but is somewhat muddy, especially in the 125-500Hz range. Mids and especially highs are nothing special, when I used to listen to these I would immediately switch to my Sennheiser PX100's whenever I didn't need isolation. Comfort is pretty good, not nearly as tight as my Sony's.
Excerpt: I need a pair of cheap headphones and when I went looking for one, I immediately searched for Sennheiser headphones cause I knew they offered the best quality and realibility even in their lower end models. When I tried it, my expectations were not let down. These headphones are extremely cheap for the quality of sound that they offer. I've been using them for almost 5 months and they're doing great. I can listen to my songs without flaw and they actually sound great.
Excerpt: I bought these as a second set of headphones for listeing to more bassy music. As I said in my HD201 review, I only wear headphoens for nighttime use, so I shop for them on a budget when it comes to headphoens. I got these for $11 bucks, but I defiantly would not buy again. The sound is great. It has decent bass and decent mids and highs. The hd201s had the better mid and high range. These are better for bass.
Summary: I have the following phones:
Koss Portapro Anniversary Edition
They are listed in they order of my perception of their sound quailty.
I was very dissapointed with the sound of the HD-202 headphones.
When plugged into a computer any and all computer noise/distortion is highlighted.
When used with a good sound source they merely sound tubby and dull.
I was surprised.
Summary: I cannot recommend these headphones. When shopping for some replacement phones a couple years ago, I had the name Sennheiser on the mind. I had read lots of great things about the company and their headphones. So when I went to Future Shop to look for a replacement, I saw the HD-202s priced at about $80, and they looked alright, so I picked them up.
I have never hated a pair of headphones so much!
Summary: I couldn't recommend these cans with the Sennheiser HD201 costing about the same and far better cans costing not much more. I couldn't wear these for too long since they were tight. I tried leaving them in between a few books to try and spread them out and it didn't seem to work. On top of that they didn't really sound all too good. The bass bleed into the mids and made them sound really cheap especially at higher volumes. There are just much better options out there.
Summary: Great value for the price. I like the 3mt long cable, helps me walk around the room as i listen to my music. they are nice and light on the ears, not recommended for chaps with ears bigger than the ear sockets itself.
