Sounds great but very uncomfortable

Ira M., Newegg
21 January 2015
  • Summary: I will keep them because it would cost me the same to RMA them as it cost to buy them; however, I probably will not wear them much.
  • Pros: they sound great, are light weight, and have a long cord and cord spool
  • Cons: VERY tight and uncomfortable. These headphones are so tight they bend my glasses and hurt my ears. The ear cups have a tendency to slip forward and partially off my ear.

Meh, could do better

David T., Newegg
9 May 2013
  • Summary: MEP-839 pro headphones are cheaper, built better, sound better.
  • Pros: These headphones had mediocre sound quality and comfort.
  • Cons: Very cheap build quality. My headband broke and it no longer plays music. i suspect something within the cable broke, not worth fixing

lasted 21 months of light usage

HEEJUNE K., Newegg
3 March 2013
  • Summary: Sennheiser stuff isn't usually this delicate. you shouldn't have bothered going after the cheapo headset market if you weren't going to be make better headset than a generic $10 cans
  • Pros: decent sound for the money, long cable
  • Cons: as the review title says, it only lasted 21 months of light, occasional usage. the wire out of the left side can developed contact problem last month and the right side just went out too. Problems like this are mostly result of cheap/lower quality component (wire in this case). This headset would...

very uncomfortable, squeezes your ears

Joseph V., Newegg
26 August 2012
  • Summary: Buy the HD 201 headphones, not these.
  • Pros: Great sound quality, extremely long cord length which is nice.
  • Cons: THEY HURT. Squeezes my ears so bad, it becomes quite uncomfortable after 15 minutes and just plain painful after an hour. The HD 201 headphones are the best ones I've ever owned, so I thought I'd try the HD 202. Huge mistake, the design is very different and I simply cannot even use these anymore.

Michael B., Newegg
25 December 2011
  • Summary: Like other reviewers mention, these aren't worth the $20 sale price, they sound cheaper than that. I also have the HD212's and although bass heavy as well, they sound MUCH better. Of all the Sennheisers I own I like these the least.
  • Pros: Comfortable on-ear padding
  • Cons: Dull sound with muddy bass.

My earlobes hurt

Kaden H., Newegg
2 December 2011
  • Pros: Sound quality is alright, cord length is great for pc users
  • Cons: High ends are tinny / hollow, ear covers were made for freaking leprechauns. I've never thought of my ears as abnormally large, but seeing as how I'm like the only one complaining of how these things make my ears hurt after a mere 2 hours makes me think otherwise.
