The HD 201s would make a great spare pair of headphones and won't put too much of a dint in your budget. They're less well-suited to everyday use, though; because the lack of equilibrium across different parts of the spectrum and the fact that they leave your ears very hot both quickly become irritating. The headphones have a pad at the top and around the ears, which are adjustable vertically. They also rotate somewhat and can tilt inward. It would be expected that with all these features, they would be perfectly comfortable. However, after wearing them for a couple of hours, I noticed a slight pain around my ears. It has occurred not so much recently, but if I wear them for too long, it becomes noticeable. Read more
Two weeks ago my good old earphones stopped working and I started looking for a new pair on the Internet. After doing some more research I decided not to go for another pair of earphones but for headphones, as I would mainly use them at home. I saw some good reviews of the Sennheiser HD 201 headphones and decided to buy them for 27EUR. Read more
These headphones really are insanely comfortable without any doubt. Only complaints about comfort are that they do get hot since your ears are surrounded by them. Other then that, they can get annoying with the wires that protrude from the headphones down past your chin slightly. Causes them to get twisted quite a bit and be overall annoying since they get in the way. Sound quality is good but has absolutely no bass. Read more
Bought two over a year ago and after light use, both broke at the point between the ear cup and the extender - snapped from the stress of taking them off and putting them on. It would appear that the plastic is not strong enough for this type of repeated use. Read more
These headphones have very good bass I can hear sub bass amazingly well but as another viewer wrote the fitting to the ear is not as comforable as the better hd555 model for example. The Mid range sound is'nt as good either. The resistance is half that of the better phones so it draws more power and the sound level is lower also. The phone are excellent at low levels but have higher distortions not that I would ever play at the higher sound levels. Read more
I have now been the owner of both the HD201s and HD202s. I tried to research as much as I could but I would never get a straight answer anywhere. Well I am going to change that. Plain and simple: the HD201s are greater than the HD202s. The level of comfort and sound quality in the 201s outdo the sound quality and lack of comfort in the 202s. Not to mention the 201's are cheaper. The 201s are easily built tougher. It is official the 201s are better. Read more or see product

I am looking for headphones with a good balance between treble and bass that is NOT bloated like most skullcandies (not to mention i need something cheap...I have a tendency to break things :S). My purpose is to listen to music at home and on the go (and maybe even the odd movie on my laptop). I also do not want them to be so bulky that i cant wear them around my neck. Would you recommend these for me?
