Conclusion: Sennheiser makes earphones for the serious listener, and the CXC 700's audio performance and noise cancellation are both superb—but the design won’t suit everyone.
Pros: Excellent audio performance, bass response. Quality active noise reduction. Outputs audio even when noise cancellation isn’t activated, with almost no difference in audio quality. Includes “Talk Through” option and three different noise reduction modes.
Cons: Battery compartment is bulky/awkward. Uses triple-A battery instead of rechargeable option.
Conclusion: The in-line remote control has a small volume slider along with the button to activate the NoiseGard noise cancelling function. Additionally the remote also houses the “Talk Through” button as well as the “Mode” selection button to cycle through the three noise cancelling modes. Sadly there are no audio control buttons on the remote, which would have made life much easier for iPhone/iPod users.
