Forget David Beckham-style earrings, these Sennheisers are the aural adornment you want to be wearing this season, not least for the outstanding sonics they trasport to your head balancers. They're a lot cheaper too! Read more

    • These in-ear buds are the perfect example of why you should replace your iPod's bundled pish. For a mere £5 shy of a demi-ton you get big, heavy bass, supremely clear ...
    • Er, nothing really. Normally we'd say the price for something this good, but at two score and five, these are cheap!

A stunning set of earphones for the money. With great bundled accessories and sound quality to utterly destroy the 'phones that came with your MP3 player, Sennheiser's CX 400s are probably the best sub-£40 earphones you can upgrade to Read more

It would be foolish to spend upwards of £100 on an MP3 player and then not bother to upgrade the headphones, and when you do there's a raft of companies vying for your money. Sennheiser has always been strong on the budget headphones front and its latest CX400s - the follow-up to the incredibly popular CX300s - continue that tradition. Read more

1st experience with in-canal phones .. these are very comfortable. I've tried 'buds' and find them uncomfortable after a couple of hours. Great to travel with an MP3 player Love the included bag to keep everything in. Good Sound quality (not GREAT, but good)!!! Wiring seems a little on the weak side. Hope they last, but I'm being gentle with them. Read more

These (or the CX 400 II) are my all time favorite ear buds.  The sound is stunning.  The fit will require some fooling with the included sets of cushions.  But, once you have a good seal, the sound is incredible.  I own like six pairs of ear buds and these set the bar.  They are not as good as say Infinity RS speakers in open air, but not much is that good.  They are the equal of Alesandro MS-1 or Koss HV/1LC traditional headphones.  I buy extras because I'm Read more

I appreciate the reviewer's inclusion of the stats, but unless you actually own a product you should refrain from recommendations concerning said product. We purchased these for my wife in a store (impatient) and she loves them. They actually replaced her CX300's to which were inferior in many ways. You also get considerable increased fitments with the CX400 over the CX300. Read more

3 weeks ago I was in an HMV store in London staring aimlessly at a wall of headphones. Clearly I was struggling as after about 5 minutes a shop assitant came over and recommended these babies. Initially I was dubious as they looked exactly the same as a cheapo £5.99 pair just next to them but I was assured the sound quality more than made up for the price (I got mine for £30) ...And yes he was right, I can now be seen bouncing down Victoria street without a care in the... The cables which measures at two feet, is symmetric with a distance of 300 mm between the earphones and separator and a distance of 300 mm between the separator and the plug.
