Real Sennheisers sound good. Wish they lasted as well, too. And there are a lot of fakes around.

Summary: [Update: Reduced the star rating from 5 to 3. They were the genuine article and very good while they lasted (see the original review below). Unfortunately, after eight months of careful and considerate use, the infamous, common fault appeared: the volume and the sound quality of the left earphone quickly deteriorated. I have now replaced them with Amazon-special Klipsch X1 headphones at half the cost.
Great replacement for standard iPod ear buds, but only for under £20.

Excerpt: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A SENN-SIBLE INVESTMENT? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been happily and contentedly using a pair of Sennheiser CX300 headphones for the best part of two years now, so when I recently acquired a Samsung Netbook, I decided to relegate them to my laptop bag and invest in some new, upgraded headphones for my iPod.
Summary: Was initially happy with these earphones, but they only lasted around 5 months before the lead started fraying where it connected to the volume control. Then the sound went in the left ear rendering them useless. On the positive side, they were comfortable to wear and the sound was decent but not quite as amazing as I had expected. I have now replaced them with soundmagic p11s which put these sennheisers to shame and are much better value for money.
Summary: These Sennheiser's were bought to replace the Bose in ear model I had before. Whilst the Bose sounded good I was disappointed with their build quality. For the price of these Sennheiser and the positive reviews on the sound I thought I'd give them a go. First out of the box and hastily plugged into my iTouch I was not that impressed. They sounded very tinny and lacked any bass. That was until I figured out how to wear them.
Excerpt: A SENN-SIBLE INVESTMENT I have been happily and contentedly using a pair of Sennheiser CX300 headphones for the best part of two years now, so when I recently acquired a netbook, I decided to relegate them to my laptop bag and invest in some new, upgraded headphones for my iPod. I toyed with the idea of getting a like for like replacement (the CX300 has been upgraded to the CX300 II) but I found that the next pair up on the product ladder were available for just a few...
Pros: Rich audio, great noise isolation and excellent value
Cons: In - ear format may not be everyone's cup of tea . Rustling from cable .
Summary: As a piece of sound equipment it can hardly be faulted at this superb price and its quality with regards to sound is undeniable, also it boasts a rather handy on-lead volume control which works brilliantly and a small (detachable) crocodile clip to help keep it in place on your jacket or shirt. It comes with several different sized sets of in-ear buds and a handy carry case with a squeeze to open top much like small change purse or similar holder.
Summary: Sennheiser CX 400 II Precision Noise Isolating Ear-canal Phones with Integrated Volume Control - Black I know, I know - when it comes to headphones, there's a wealth of info out there. However, because of the poor build quality of these cans, I feel compelled to throw my tuppence worth into the mix.
Summary: This review is from: Sennheiser CX 400 II Precision Noise Isolating Ear-canal Phones with Integrated Volume Control - Black (Electronics) I bought these Sennheisers when my standard Apple earphones disintegrated. Clearly these are far superior-the bass is great! Unfortunately, one of the few cons of the product is the noise interference you get whenever you move the wire-but you manage to get used to that after a while. Overall, they're well worth it!
Summary: Great sound quality, however the jack became faulty after only two weeks. Returned item and recieved a replacement, which also became faulty after only a week. After doing some research online, this seems to be a common problem with these headphones, so beware.

Summary: The Sennheiser CX 400 II Precision Noise Isolating Ear-canal Phones are top quality and come with a lot of additional ear pieces to suit every size and shape of ear. The sound quality is fabulous and they really do keep outside noise to a bare minimum. I used them recently on an U.S Airways Jumbo Jet and found there to be really effective in drowning out background noise. Made my in flight movie experience much better than normal.
