Summary: I should have known these being my second pair of Sennheisers............................ The first pair I had failed in the right ear, this pair although still working is falling to bits before my eyes (or ears). Wire to the volume control became exposed after 2-3 weeks, all the stickers identifying make and model have fallen off just waiting now for the failing ear piece and they'll be dispatched to where they belong.
CX 400-II headphones give great quality depending on the price
2 November 2010
Excerpt: The first thing I should mention is that there are fakes out there, a lot of them. I bought some CX 300s a few month backs and they were unfortunately fake. I am saying this because it may be a little confusing when deciding whether to buy these headphones as the price may seem to good to be true. So yeah, some of the really cheap ones available may actually be fakes, they look similar but are actually knock-offs which will probably have worse quality and break easier.
Pros: Long life depending on price, good quality, noise cancellation works .
Excerpt: My husband's previous job was as a sound engineer, and he's always praised Sennheiser products, so when I saw the Sennheiser CX 400 II Precision Noise Isolating Ear-canal Phones with Integrated Volume Control for the bargain price of £20 on Amazon I purchased them and put them away for Christmas. As they were for use with his ipod and iphone I bought them in white but they are also available in black. The usual RRP is £35 so £20 is a bargain.
great quality headphones, well made and will give a good range of sound

Excerpt: Hi folks, I bought these headphones on the high street for about £55, my first bit of advice would be to get these online, as you can get them for a lot cheaper than what I paid! I think on Amazon you can get them for around £40 What you get: The headphones come with a host of in ear adaptors so you can find the perfect fit for you, obviously this is very important so that you dont get any audio leaking in our out.
Real Sennheisers sound good. Wish they lasted as well, too. And there are a lot of fakes around.

Summary: [Update: Reduced the star rating from 5 to 3. They were the genuine article and very good while they lasted (see the original review below). Unfortunately, after eight months of careful and considerate use, the infamous, common fault appeared: the volume and the sound quality of the left earphone quickly deteriorated. I have now replaced them with Amazon-special Klipsch X1 headphones at half the cost.
Great replacement for standard iPod ear buds, but only for under £20.

Excerpt: ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A SENN-SIBLE INVESTMENT? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I have been happily and contentedly using a pair of Sennheiser CX300 headphones for the best part of two years now, so when I recently acquired a Samsung Netbook, I decided to relegate them to my laptop bag and invest in some new, upgraded headphones for my iPod.
Summary: Was initially happy with these earphones, but they only lasted around 5 months before the lead started fraying where it connected to the volume control. Then the sound went in the left ear rendering them useless. On the positive side, they were comfortable to wear and the sound was decent but not quite as amazing as I had expected. I have now replaced them with soundmagic p11s which put these sennheisers to shame and are much better value for money.
Excerpt: A SENN-SIBLE INVESTMENT I have been happily and contentedly using a pair of Sennheiser CX300 headphones for the best part of two years now, so when I recently acquired a netbook, I decided to relegate them to my laptop bag and invest in some new, upgraded headphones for my iPod. I toyed with the idea of getting a like for like replacement (the CX300 has been upgraded to the CX300 II) but I found that the next pair up on the product ladder were available for just a few...
Pros: Rich audio, great noise isolation and excellent value
Cons: In - ear format may not be everyone's cup of tea . Rustling from cable .
