Summary: Great sound quality, however the jack became faulty after only two weeks. Returned item and recieved a replacement, which also became faulty after only a week. After doing some research online, this seems to be a common problem with these headphones, so beware.
Summary: The sound quality out of these earphones is fantastic. I was absolutely blown away. They completely cut out all the background noise and it literally feels like your head is being filled with music.
Summary: This is my third pair of Sennheiser CX 400 II ear phones, and this is the third time to loose sound in the left earpiece after only a few months of non-heavy use. It seems, reading other reviews, that this is a common problem.
Summary: If you prefer a summary, please skip the below and see the end of my review. Since purchasing my SE W995 I have been looking for a decent pair of canal phones to pair it with. In the past I've always just used the standard stuff you get out of the box.
Summary: I have many sets of earphones and have some that I prefer over others. When I bought an iPhone as a replacement to my antiquated iPod I struggled to get and decent warmth and bass in the sound from any of my sets, whilst at the same time keeping tight mids and crisp highs.
Sennheiser CX 400 II Precision Noise Isolating Ear-canal Phones
4 July 2011
Summary: The Sennheiser CX 400 II Precision Noise Isolating Ear-canal Phones are top quality and come with a lot of additional ear pieces to suit every size and shape of ear. The sound quality is fabulous and they really do keep outside noise to a bare minimum.
Summary: I know, I know - when it comes to headphones, there's a wealth of info out there. However, because of the poor build quality of these cans, I feel compelled to throw my tuppence worth into the mix.
Summary: Previously I had the Sennheiser CX 500 which were great. I lost mine so had to get a new pair. I wish I hadn't spent the money on these CX 400. Within a couple of weeks they started falling apart. The silver bit on the earbud which holds together/hides the earbud connecting to the wire came apart.
Summary: As earphones, I can't fault the CX400 II. However, after six months, they are extremely tatty. The labels have fallen off. The decals have worn off. The sleeve around the wires has pulled out of the earphones, exposing the bare cables, and the plastic around the wires has started to flake off.
Summary: This is my third set of these headphones. They are great, however I can't beleive that once again they have failed. Its the same problem that seems to happen. It apears that the wire in the jack comes loose as you loose quality of sound and the sound cuts in and out.
