Sennheiser CX300-B

rosyoverture, reviewed.com

  • Conclusion: Iwas disappointed after my first day. the rubber tips are so thin and flexible it's hard to get them into your ears. I have an apple classic Ipod and I messed around for a half hour with the bass, loudness, treble, eq functions and I could not get as good of sound as I could with the factory ones that came with the nano pod. I bass sounded like it was maxed out way sooner than the factory ones.

  • Summary: So, the other reviews are fairly accurate.  I bought (two pairs of them!) a while back and I thought they were good, Senheisser brand made me feel smart.  If only I had come here first (or known about head-fi) I could have made a better decision.  At $40 they're not worth it at all.  If you're willing to drop double that get the RE0s, they will not disappoint.
  • Pros: Bloated Bass (is it a pro?)
  • Cons: Bloated Bass

  • Summary: Bought these as a cheap iem to use while my customs are being fixed, they sound pretty good for the price, isolate well enough to be bearable on the train, and weren't too expensive. My problems with them come from the entire design of both the iem's and the product as a whole. Plastic death packaging is awful, physically getting the phones out of the package was infuriating, rather than a pleasure, even with scissors, and a stanley knife.
  • Pros: sound is decent
  • Cons: packaging, cord, 3.5mm jack, carry pouch,

  • Summary: Like many other people, I got my cx300's as they were widely available on the high street with not much competition at the time. They are mostly known for their bass which is very abundant. The problem with that much emphasis on bass is the rest of the range suffers. Treble, in particular, suffers quite badly and is drowned out. Add to this very little clarity in the bass which doesn't have great extension anyway and for sound you are soon left wanting.
  • Pros: Comfort,
  • Cons: Outdated Sound, Microphonics,

  • Summary: Having been a marketing casualty years ago by the Sennheiser headphone giant having two decent over-ear headphones bought of them, I decided to have these for an MP3 player additionally seeing good reviews about them.   I don't know if eartips of them not fitted well in my ears but the sound was awful!!!   I can't say enough about mids, trebles, basses etc. but overall the sound was harsh to a point that my ears couldn't stand the dreadfull noise of them!!!
  • Pros: Not very expensive
  • Cons: Awful sound

** BUYER BE AWARE ** Sennheiser CX55 replacement buds....

AK "akuk123", Amazon
24 July 2012
  • Summary: These buds were bought as a replacement for my Sennheiser CX55 in ear headphones (I can't comment on any of the other Sennheiser in ear headphones). Again, as some people have mentioned they are not as good a quality as the original Sennheiser ones that came with your headphones and don't grip in the ear as you'd like as they can slip out (if you clean your earholes out like i do daily!).

Ear buds

Amazon Customer, Amazon
16 August 2011
  • Summary: I have been trying to find foam replacement ear buds for my B&O earphones. These looked OK from the on-line picture but were not suitable at all. A better description would have been a help. Even if these had done the job they are expensive for what they are. Having said that, the service from the supplier was very efficient with the product arriving quickly.

Not the same as original ear buds

B. Hogan "brazzer", Amazon
18 January 2010
  • Summary: Well, they did fit on my CX300's but they are not the same shape as the original ear buds. They also look much cheaper (mis-shaped with extra bits of moulding evident) and they were delivered loose in a paper envelope as if they had been scooped out of a bucket. Haven't tried wearing them all day yet so not sure if the sound quality is affected, but if you are paying a bit extra for Sennheiser headphones you don't really want to stick cheap rip off ear buds on the end.

  • Summary: Need small ears to make sure they stay in. Sound not that good, normal apple headphones are just as good.
  • Pros: Does cut out the surrounding sound if you shove them right in your ear
  • Cons: Sound not that good
