Pros: The sound is superb. This headset has had the best sound of any headset I have used to date.
Cons: It is heavy, no doubt about that. There are also 3 pressure points that it uses to rest on your head, instead of a normal cushioned band like other headsets use. Now these two aspects together and a recipe for disaster. For prolonged periods of gaming I get headaches a lot. And as all gamers know, comfort is a huge factor.
Cons: There is loads of static and sometimes random buzzing noises in the headset. I believe this is caused by the USB connector, since I changed the USB port as the static cut down but is still there. The first USB port I used was next to my mouse's USB and I could sometimes hear my mouse clicks & scroll wheel through my headset...
Summary: These do sound good however they are very uncomfortable. Due to the weight of the headset and the poor design on the upper padding all the weight sits on the one square pad at the top and it's hard plastic under the thin padding which just digs into the top of your head. I sent mine back because they were just to sore to wear.
Summary: I purchased these on Dec 15th 2013. I have used them almost every day. It's now 2nd Feb 2014. I purchased them after looking at ROCCAT website. It said Jacks and USB, Me thinking that it's universal, that I could just use the USB as I didn't have a sound card. I was wrong, the USB is only to power the headset. I had to get a second hand one from a friend just to use the new headset.
Summary: They don't provide any better audio than the cheaper true 5.1 headsets on the market, the directional audio is barely noticeable (AND YES I HAVE IT SET UP CORRECTLY). and as an added bonus the headset is uncomfortable, this is because instead of the foam pad being in contact with your head more often than not the sharp plastic surrounding it is. Still, it does its job, the bass is good, and as with all roccat products the kave looks the part.
Summary: the leather padding on the head is not thick enouth for the weight of the headset. i put some of my own padding there. All good for 3 months then the left ear plastic hinge broke cant repair it. I took all this in to account when buying (god knows why at 65 quid) i was carefull but still it broke. give me my razor back. not a happy bunny.
Summary: Absolutely incredible headset..for the first few months. After that the wires will begin to twist on their own and become really annoying and frustrating to untangle. Not to mention a mere 2 months after purchase, the right earcup snapped. I take very good care of my headsets and was very surprised that even though the headset appeared to be very well built, it was in fact quite fragile. If you do purchase this, be very careful with it.
Summary: First thing I noticed was really awful static. It was bareable when sound was playing but otherwise, really bad static. Tried them in on board sound plus a sound card, and 2 other computers. The microphone was also really quiet, even with full boost on it was quieter than it should of been. It was a shame as a friend has a pair and they work perfectly. I bought them becuase theirs worked so well and were so much more comfortable than my other headphones.
Sound is great for the price, but they're just too heavy.

Summary: I previously tried the Tritton AX 5.1 headphones but sent them back due to pretty poor 5.1 performance, so then I ordered the Roccat Kave 5.1 headhphones and my initial impressions were very good. They have a great feel to them, they look great, they're easy to set up and most importantly they sounded pretty good too. Nothing to rave about, but they got the job done and I was happy with my purchases.
