Pros: Packaging, headset, and audio is Beautiful. Sounds amazing once you get everything configured. Good bass for a headset. Braided Cables. Easy to use Controller. Can switch between speakers and headset with the push of a button. Awesome for gaming. Music has quality bass in 7.1 mode. Easy to install. Fast shipping. slick and subtle mic. Audio cables that plug into your remote for your speaker plugs to go into.(No splitters needed)
Cons: No software so if you have 5.1 speakers you have to go into setting to change it from 7.1 to 5.1 every time you switch to speakers and switch back for headphones. If you're using a sound card (Recommended) it takes to configuring to get things perfect. Low end Mic quality, definitely nothing to use for recordings. works fine for gaming
Pros: The sound is great and from a lot of the cons i have been reading it truly does sound like no one set it up correctly. I did not set it up as a headset i set it up as a 7.1 speaker and it truly did make a difference on the sound.
Cons: The price and the size are the only cons i have with them and the size can not be helped not with all the speakers in each ear piece.
Pros: Great bass response, and excelent range in the speakers, also I love the comfort lvl of this headset. I can wear it for hours and hours and feel no fatigue. The retractable mic is nice but rarely used. The quality lvl of the headset itself as far as a product is expectional. The braided cables, and the entire construction feel solid. Will update when I have owned it for over a year. Quality of sound is awsome.
Cons: Unless your computer sound card is set to since with the performance mode you are currently in with the headset then you can have issues. This is in no way a product flaw but this is why you see so many complaints about it in my opinion. IE. if the headset is manually set to 7.1, and the card is set to 5.1 then inherint issues arise, plus you have the windows controls to deal with on top of that. So I really belive alot of the complaints come from not realizing that t...
Excerpt: I upgraded from the Logitec G35 5.1 gaming headset which I have been using for two years. While the G35 is a great headset, the surround is still emulated so I decided to give the Tiamat a try since it uses real drivers to deliver the 7.1 experience. I was very impressed by Razer's presentation...
Summary: The sound is Incredible, even after owning a razer megalodon for over a year. I do find it trouble some to have to play around with a sound card settings(Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium)when going from 7.1 to 2.1. When I have my sound card set up to run 7.1 and I Switch the Tiamat over to 2.1 it sounds like your only hearing the sub of the 7.1 and not full stereo 2.1. You can set up the Sound card to fix this.
Summary: To be honest, "WOW!" is really an understatement for this headset. I am far too impressed by the performance delivered from this product. Just the physical attributes themselves makes this headset all the more worth it. The retractable mic, the glossy finish, the comfortable fit, and most of all, the amazing sound that is produced from this headset will surely satisfy. I'll make thise review brief, so here is the rundown. Chat quality is superb on both ends.
