Summary: Just got these as an upgrade from my Philips SHG7980 headset. Straight out of the box, they sound great, no equalizer setting modification required. Just plug the headset and get immersed in movies and games. The bass is definitely what makes this headphone shine.
Club/rock/dubstep music: perfect with Asus Xonar DGX sound-card (dolby headphone: enabled)
Gaming: best when used with Razer Surround 2.0 and all sound card effects disabled.
Pros: Great bass. Great positional audio, strong build, great immersion, braided 10ft cable
Cons: slightly heavy, ears get warm, bass may sometimes drown out details, but not so much.
Summary: Ease of use- Not really a big deal however the sound is mediocre and the mic picks up internal and external sounds better than your voice until you download Razer software to set up nicer sound(don't know if it has to be Razer software but that's what i used)
Pros: Comfort- this is by far the most comfortable headset i have ever owned, the band at the top is extremely nice and auto adjusts to your head, the ear cups are extremely thick and its not heavy or pressing like some headsets.
Cons: Mic- the mic sounds awful compared to some other headsets i have owned, even cheap 20 dollar headsets seem to have better sound quality.
Summary: The mic, when fully extended wobbles around helplessly at even the slightest movement, It's horrid. However! if you extend it half way out or so its very snug and you can still turn the flexible part of it a bit.
Pros: This is my first quality headset so my views may be biased, but I didn't think it would feel like I have two sub woofers attached to my ears, for the bass in these is quite nice. (compared to my brother beats -bah)
Cons: Maybe personal, but the headband hurts my head. Maybe I'll get used to it. not worth taking a egg off though.
Pros: Excellent comfort. One of the defining characteristics of the headset is the band below the plastic, and it easily gives comfort and flexability. If you're not used to it, you'll adjust quickly, and it makes it so you can relax with it on. It's also extremely good at cancelling noise. In addition to that, the bass is pretty OK most of the time...
Cons: The bad of the headset comes out with deeper bass. I don't see any issues listed on the reviews, but I've noticed that with deep bass that persists (Think the hum of a laser charging up in a video game), it actually pops and crackles. It's actually rather annoying. I tried using Razer Surround with it, hoping it would fix the issue, but it actually made it worse. I've changed drivers and done different setups, but there's always a crackle or popping when dealing with ...
Pros: They sound great, the bass is incredible!! They are very snug on the ear. They look very good. They feel durable. There is a very large amount of padding to provide a comfortable fit on the ear.
Cons: There's only a small piece holding the headphones to the headband, but it holds very well. If you have big ears you might need to finagle your ear into the cup a little bit, but its not much of a problem.
Pros: I've never really had a high-end headset before, with the most expensive being a 50 dollar Logitech headset years back, I don't even remember what the model ID was. But the Razer Tiamat produces sound so much better than anything I've ever used before, so I'm very impressed with it. It's very comfortable, it also comes with a lot of cord. I was a bit surprised when I first got it, due to the fact that it's 10+ft long.
Pros: The audio is very crisp and clear, the bass is good but not overwhelming, music sounds good aswell as in game sounds. The headset is comfortable (for a while) and the mic dose not need to be pulled out for people in your skype call to hear you loud and clear.
Cons: The only con (reason for the egg) after a good couple of hours and by couple I mean like 4-5 the pressure from the headset can be a little much. Maybe it is because the headset is bran spankin new, or maybe I just have a big head (which I do). However after a while it just feels a bit snug and I take them off for 5 or so minutes. I hope they break in and this snug feeling loosens up.
