Summary: Just got these as an upgrade from my Philips SHG7980 headset. Straight out of the box, they sound great, no equalizer setting modification required. Just plug the headset and get immersed in movies and games. The bass is definitely what makes this headphone shine.
Club/rock/dubstep music: perfect with Asus Xonar DGX sound-card (dolby headphone: enabled)
Gaming: best when used with Razer Surround 2.0 and all sound card effects disabled.
Pros: Great bass. Great positional audio, strong build, great immersion, braided 10ft cable
Cons: slightly heavy, ears get warm, bass may sometimes drown out details, but not so much.
Summary: This headset really kicks. There are 2 40mm speakers in each ear and the rear one sits in a bandpass enclosure designed for deep, thumping bass. If you like dubstep, these headphones are for you. I've loved them so much I carry them around with me and use them with my Galaxy Player and now my CMoy amp. They have pristene sound with clear highs and mids and insane bass. I have recommended this to over 4 friends who immediately bought a pair after listening to mine.
Pros: EPIC BASS, Comfortable one-size-fits-all headband, noise cancelling, immersion++, great positional audio, wonderful for listening to music
Cons: may need a headphone amp to really make it bang, slight quality control issues (first pair had to be sent back (this is why there is -1/2 star))
Summary: Great performance BUT the mouthpiece could be designed to flick UP more so its across the mouth itself whereas as max, its now sitting way down at chin area UGH. I have an average head size and yet the cups do not sit nor cup my ears properly, sort of gaping at the bottom ear area allowing external sound through my gameplay. Makes me wonder did the designer actually put them on their head and use the mouthpiece at all or am I shaped like an oval alien.
Summary: Great headset, but the mic boom feels really cheap and flimsy and wobbles about when i move my head, good quality mic apart from casing, the sound that comes from these is okay, very deep bass, which i like, but the left earcup distorts every now and then, usally when my friends talk on skype as i have the skype volume high. EDIT, after just a few months they are making a popping noise and the mic has stopped working, will be returning these to pc world.
Summary: I decided to purchase these headphones since I was looking to get a gaming oriented headset, with friends having bad experience with another leading brand so I purchased these, not entry level but not top tier. A little biased since I've used HiFi headphones all the time: Klipsch, Shure, and Bose Pros: - Headphone alone is well built - Comfortable large ear cups and auto-adjust headband - Long braided cable Cons: - Poor sound quality for music and movies - Very deep bass...
Summary: I really like this headset It is comfortable wide enough and accommodates my head very well however if I were to have 2 things they would that the headset has 2 subwoofers it adds extra base which isn't good for most music but it is good for dubstep and stuff like that so I would change it to 1, and also the size of the ear cups because after maby 3-5 hours the top left of my ear starts to hurt.
Summary: So poorly designed I really do not know where to start! Ok, let's start with the mic. Apart from being VERY poor at reproducing what it is designed to do ie sound reproduction, it sounds very faint and when turned up to full volume to allow sound to be heard, very distorted. Also, the mic is situated nowhere near your mouth but down the side of your neck. this is because it has been located onto the wrong earpiece!
