A Poorly Engineered and Hardly Tested Failiure

Jordan Hanson, Amazon
  • Summary: Left Headphone broke, it's a common defect (see other reviews), the headphone is also unusable because of the cord that rubs against everything and makes constant irritating noise. DO NOT RECCOMEND

this was a funny experience

Noel Sanchez, Amazon
31 May 2015
  • Summary: There was no retail box only the headset and coupons card, stickers and quick start guide, not sure if that's normal or not but I thought I would get it in original packaging, anyway as I plugged the headset into my computer it registered it as razer kraken 7.1 , I downloaded razer synapse and was...

Cannot believe it.

Thomas Pizzimenti, Amazon
2 March 2015
  • Summary: The left earpiece has already broken at the joint. This product is well in the above average headset category. I bought at the recommendation of a friend. To be frank for a headset I payed roughly 100$ for, to already have this kind of wear and tear in under 3 months is just unimaginable.

Kimberly Noble, Amazon
17 February 2015
  • Summary: Trash, after about a month of use, it started making a hissing sound in one of the muffs, and now i almost never use it because of that, i would never buy this again, you're better off getting one from steelseries.

Returned

Aaron, Amazon
16 February 2015
  • Summary: The sound from the cord rubbing was intolerable. I had to actually return the damn headset. I think perhaps mine had something wrong with it because I couldn't see how anyone could recommend it.

Why even make these?

Anonymous, Newegg
5 January 2015
  • Summary: Do not buy these.
  • Pros: 1. You can listen to music, watch movies and play games with them. It come with a mic so you can also talk to your pals. You can also do this just as well with a 5 dollar mic from and a 5 dollar pair of ear buds.
  • Cons: 1 It's like listening to music through one of those headphones you make with your friends as a kid with two plastic cups and a piece of string except the plastic cup telephones have better base. 2 There is no surround sound. It's no better than any other pair of headphones and the virtual surroun...

RMA sends refurbs even for defects on practically new products.

Karim F., Newegg
20 August 2014
  • Pros: Decent headset.
  • Cons: Round ear cups = pain. The 1 star is because Razer sent me a refurb for an RMA where the defect developed within 30 days of purchase instead of a new product.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE.

Colten Y., Amazon
8 July 2014
  • Summary: I bought theses headphones and for the first two weeks they worked perfect. Then the right ear faded out and was barely audible. So i got a replacement for free and it also worked for about two weeks, and then the left ear faded and became barely audible.

Disappointment

Nathan B., Newegg
27 June 2014
  • Summary: I have never been so disappointed with a Razer product in my life. I've owned a Lachesis, Taipan, and Blackwidow all of which I've loved. Yet this headset singlehandedly destroyed my faith in the future of this company.
  • Pros: Presentation, packaging, overall aesthetics.
  • Cons: Uncomfortable. My point of reference is a Logitech G930, and a Audio Technica M50. Both are much more comfortable. I was looking for a replacement headset for my Logitech (as it broke) and I saw the Razer at a less expensive price point. Not only is it hard to wear for extended time (something th...

Do not purchase this

Ruth L., Newegg
12 March 2014
  • Summary: Plantronics and Corsair make 7.1 USB headsets that are far better in both audio quality and ease of setup. However, Razer may have the most solid physical build quality.
  • Pros: Good sound quality, solid build feel, and braided cable.
  • Cons: Absolutely terrible software. The Razer Synapse and Razer Surround software is garbage. This headset would work amazingly well if you could just use the default dolby 7.1 drivers, but being forced to use Razer's terrible drivers absolutely ruin the headset. After hours of tweaking, I was unable t...
