  • Summary: I bought these after seeing the RT guys at Achievement Hunter wearing them. They sound fantastic and are a great price. I definitely like these better than the turtle beach and astro a50s I tried.

It is all good.

Rhonda, Amazon
2 January 2013
  • Summary: It is a comfortable headset, I wish it weren't so pricey, but it is good. If it weren't for Christmas I am not sure it would be worth the money.

Decent

Frederick T., Newegg
2 November 2012
  • Summary: To the last reviewer ....Rage harder that your an idiot. No one especially a supervisor from Newegg yelled at you. Also no one told you that you could order them try them on and return them for a while refund when at the on the products description it clearly states.
  • Pros: As others have stated these are great wireless headphones. The sound is very very good. I use these occasionally and only got them due to them being wireless.
  • Cons: After awhile they give me a headache, not so much to being uncomfortable but they are kind of tight on my dome.

Works With Both PC and Xbox (mostly)

G33kman, Amazon

  • Summary: I'm both and Xbox 360 and PC gamer so I needed a headset that would work for both. After a disappointing attempt with the Turtle Beach XP400s, I figured I'd give the Razer Chimaera 5.1 a try.

Love this Headset

David P., Newegg
14 October 2011
  • Summary: Already had the Astro A40's but now that I have kids I had to get wireless. These headsets were the perfect choice. I don't do alot of voice chat so I can't really give an opinion on that.
  • Pros: Wireless. Comfortable. Uses standard rechargeable batteries. Good battery life. Looks Sexy.
  • Cons: Minor gripes... Not true surround They have one driver in each ear. Using Dolby Headphone technology. But that's what most use anyways same as Astro's. Still hard for me to tell where I am getting shot from. Better than using the TV speakers but not perfect. Sound field feels empty around the fro...

Overall -- very good

Natalia K., Newegg
9 September 2011
  • Summary: Aside of this Dolby Digital issue it is a great headset, especially when it comes with Razer Spectre mouse :) Never tried microphone so can't say anything about. p.s. Still not sure if DD trouble is related to my X-Fi because I do not have any other source of DD, but the encoder works perfectly with...
  • Pros: Very well built, both stand and the set Beautiful sound (very balanced bass) Uses common AAA rechargeable batteries (big plus) Not heavy Wireless distance is about 12-15 feet in my apartment Does not interfere with my wireless router at all
  • Cons: I connected this one to my X-Fi Fatality Pro by means of fiber optic, but when I activate realtime Dolby digital encoder in soundcard drivers, sound from the headset always comes and goes. It looks like DD decoder inside the stand is not powerful enough to decode the stream (I tried the same conf...
