Summary: Generally I have been happy with Razer products but this was a disappointment.
Pros: none really
Cons: First one was almost DOA, worked for an hour. Customer service was good and sent me a 2nd right away. The 2nd worked for about 2 months, with very little problems now cuts out every few seconds... completely useless at this point.
Summary: Purchased these at a good price, but they arrived defective. I understand this happens, but I couldn't get a replacement pair. I got a refund, but I still want a working pair. So now I'll have to pay a higher price because Amazon wouldn't back order a replacement pair until restocked. Very disappointing for my son and me.
Summary: I have been very dissatisfied with my Chimaera Wireless Gaming Headset. I did not get the 5.1 version because it was the easiest to set up with my Xbox 360. It is in my opinion completely unusable. The chat volume of other players are far too quite to be heard. Even after boosting the chat volume and lowering the game volume in the Xbox menus it was still really difficult to hear. This is immensely frustrating. This is the reason I purchased these headphones.
Summary: First of all, this is the Stereo headset, NOT the 5.1 that for whatever reason people are reviewing on here. Bought two of these, set up the bases and the trouble already begins. I noticed the RCA to 3.5mm cable that plugs into the base station is loose. So I tried it on the other base, loose there as well. The base stations connector ports are too large for the 3.5mm cable that included and meant to be plugged in.
Summary: When this came in I was very excited because it been several days since my cat peed on my headset. I set it up and intalled all the wires(wireless) and it would not sync. I tried again, no luck. after rereading all the doucmentation and searching the site there was no way to get help. My dad came home and took it to his computer and it worked for him. So I had him bring it to my computer and we (he) could not get it to sync.
Cons: Unless you want to only use this as a headset it's not really what it says. If you connect the wireless receiver all you will get is game audio wirelessly. You can connect it directly to your controller to get it to work as intended, but then the whole wireless aspect is thrown out the window and it will shut itself off every 10 minutes regardless. Usually Razer products are really good quality, but this is not. They obviously didn't take their time and designed it so...
Summary: Newegg was great in supplying my RMA and return shipping labels on the defective product. Not their fault that the product was faulty. Got store credit to purchase a different brand.
Pros: Never got to use them.
Cons: Got 2 pairs of the Razer Chimaera. The original and the replacements. Both had a high pitched noise coming from the power adapter. Other reviews state this as well, I thought maybe just bad pairs. When I received 2 that had the same issue I realized this was a manufacture defect. I do no recommend anyone to purchase these.
