Razer Chimaera Gaming Headset Review

  • Summary: Conclusion Razer has garnered a good reputation for making quality products. They don’t only sell products, they also sell a lifestyle. The presentation of their items, the look, and the idea of having a product that is created specifically for gamers. There’s nothing wrong with selling a lifestyle in addition to a product, Apple is well known for doing this. Outside of the computer world, Grey Goose sells a lifestyle to push its ‘ultra premium’ vodka.

  • Conclusion: The Chimaera is much heavier than is comfortable for extended wear, but it does provide good sound quality and a serviceable microphone. You'd want to try them on before committing to a purchase.

  • Conclusion: The fact that the stand doubles as the charging pod is a good decision by Razer and this intelligent design continues throughout the product with a simple setup process, simply connect the phono cable to our PC/360 (and the optional mic cable if required), then plug in the power and the Chimaera is ready to use (once charged). Each of the unit's buttons is located at an easy to reach position and the headset sits comfortably on our head, never feeling too heavy.

Razer Chimaera

6 July 2011

Razer Chimaera Wireless Gaming Headset

31 May 2011
