Expert Review

  • Summary: overall, a decent piece of kit for 90 pounds. fairs good in games (i find the noise cancelling mic great, others say they hear me very very clearly, all the time) but finds true love with music. running off computer with sound blaster zxr's and well pleased with clarity and all-roundness.
  • Pros: nice deep bass, clear middles, mediocre tops
  • Cons: can feel tight if you have large ears, needed a bit of care initially

Razer BlackShark review

30 January 2013
  • Conclusion: As with many products, the main problem with the BlackShark is its pricing rather than its quality. As it stands, it's a well built and decent sounding headset, and it's also pretty comfortable (for those with smaller ears). At £90 though, it doesn't feel worth it.

Razer Blackshark Expert 2.0 Headset Review

26 November 2012
  • Conclusion: With the release of the Blackshark the people over at Razer have proven once again that they are amongst the leading gaming peripherals manufacturers for a reason. It's certainly not on par with the latest Tiamat 7.1 and Chimaera 5.1 surround headsets again designed and manufactured by Razer but...
  • Pros: - Build Quality (Metal Frame), - Design (After Attack Helicopter Headsets), - Audio Quality (Very Good Mid/Highs), - Removable Boom Microphone, - Comfortable, - Excellent Audio Isolation

  • Summary: The sound for these cans suck. Without any eq settings, the bass clearly overpowers the mids and highs. I tried lowering the lower frequencies, but what I got was even worse. The mids and highs sounded distorted and lack some serious detail.
  • Pros: Sexy, somewhat comfortable, good mic.
  • Cons: Sound

Razer Blackshark

1 September 2015
