Razer Barracuda HP-1 Gaming Headphones
6 December 2007
Summary: While this was Razer's first attempt at creating gaming headphones, let alone any audio products, they certainly put their best foot forward with the Barracuda HP-1. From the build quality to the audio performance, the Razer Barracuda HP-1 was able to satisfy our tastes in every form. Even after wearing the headphones for hours, we had run into no issues of the Barracuda HP-1 becoming uncomfortable or any other issues.
Summary: Before I even laid my hands on the headset, I was rather skeptical that a headset could provide true 5.1 sound. Although I knew it was a razer product, and I have yet to be disappointed by one of their products, I was still worried. Now I can say again that I am not disappointed by razer’s products. When listening to music on the RazerBarracuda HP-1, I felt myself slip away and emerge into a state of tranquility.
Summary: This photo has no real significance... I just thought it was cool.

Connection of the HP-1 is pretty straightforward when using the adapter, consult the included Quickstart Guide for the color of each 5.1 connector. You also may want to consult your mobo or sound card manual.
Summary: While we were not able to test both the
Barracuda AC-1 Gaming Audio Card
in conjunction with the Barracuda HP-1 Gaming Headphones, our experience was still excellent with our analog sound card. Razer's digital solution promises even more sonic purity with both audio components used together, however the HP-1 Gaming Headphones perform excellent with our on-board audio sub-system of the motherboard we tested.
Pros: Excellent Design, Excellent Surround Reproduction, Lightweight for it's Class, Unique and Innovative Features, Easy Installation and Setup, Can be used right out of the Box, No Software Required, Craftsmanship
Summary: The Razer Barracuda HP-1 gaming headphones are a solid surround sound option for PC gaming. The sound quality is fairly good and the overall experience of the eight drivers was, if nothing else, a lot of fun.
Conclusion: Das Razer Barracuda™ HP-1 5.1 Channel Gaming Headset verlässt unseren Testparcour mit gemischten Gefühlen.
