  • Summary: DO NOT BUY. This is a problematic unit. Look it up, there many issues from the unit failing.
  • Pros: Nice unit, looks good and sounds OK.
  • Cons: First time I ever had to RMA something. Newegg was great and fast. Second one came in it worked ONE day dead again. I cant even RMA it now since it is beyond the 30 day thing.

Ugggh

Graham D., Newegg
7 May 2009
  • Summary: I wish this worked and fit better. I was looking forward to the idea of wireless stereo. I have the Griffin tunebuds and they are the in-the-ear canal type, so I'm used to that, but when I press these in for a tighter seal, the sound gets worse. My other Plantronics, the Voyager 510, works great!
  • Pros: Well, the concept is good. Wireless stereo via blutooth - who could argue with that? Well, let's start with the good. 1. Sound quality for listening to music is good 2. Range is very good - Apprx 15-20 feet from phone and it still sounds good. 3. Pairs easily and quickly with htc s740 4. Price ha...
  • Cons: Now, for the bad news; 1. UNCOMFORTABLE - slips out too easily. This thing will NOT stay put, especially the microphone side even when using the ear support. 2. Sound quality when talking is crackly - breaks up. 3. As mentioned in con #1, the microphone side won't stay in and it appears to be the...

Save your money

Ellis L., Newegg
2 May 2009
  • Summary: My Motorola HS850 just worked. Sound quality was awesome. Never lost connections or sddenly hung up on me. Volume and clarity was great. Only problem was it was not in-ear so it tended to flop around a bit when I really got moving at work.
  • Pros: It's pretty and looks cool on your ears.
  • Cons: It constantly and consistently looses connection with every phone I've tried it with - RAZR V3, iPhone and Intermec CN3. One call it works and the next I have to use the the phone handset - I press the talk button and no one's home. Defeats the purpose of having a HANDSFREE headset if I am consta...

Lacks quality

Quinn D., Newegg
9 April 2009
  • Summary: Lost 30 bucks sending it back with shipping and restocking fee, but I still sent it back.... That's how back it was.
  • Pros: lightweight, stereo sound
  • Cons: scratchy sound regardless if you're listening to music or talking on the phone. Person on the other end said it sounded like I was far away or on a speaker phone.

Plantronics 855

Chester J., Newegg
6 April 2009
  • Pros: Light weight. Voice quality usually with my Verizon VX8800
  • Cons: Product would not turn or take a charge after six months. A number of Forum users experience similar problems, Plantronics response was to return the product if purchased within 30 days. If still under warranty, provide receipt and return for replacement. My gut tells me that this is a manufactur...

A Big Disappointment

Anonymous, Newegg
3 January 2009
  • Summary: On other BT headsets with A2DP, the audio stream will periodically increase or decrease in speed and pitch in the presence of interference. This headset seems to minimize that but trades off with momentatry pauses during musical playback. I am not sure if I liked this or not.
  • Pros: Very nice concept, MicroUSB charging and lightweight. A very cool detachable stereo ear bud and differing sized earbuds. It has a nice assortment of accesories, including a storage pouch for the earbud and cable.
  • Cons: Callers did not seem to notice the difference in the position of the sliding boom. Horrible sound quality - Unfortunately, the equalization curve of this headset has a sharp bump in the mid high range, resulting in a shrill sounding conversations with callers. During stereo playback, there is a n...

  • Summary: I purchased 3 of these headsets. 2 of the 3 were doa right out of the box. The 3rd has now stopped working after about 2 weeks of use. It worked well when it was working. Very disappointed in this product. I should have returned all 3.
  • Pros: When it works, sound is good. Mic sound ok.
  • Cons: Stay far away from this product. You will be facing the luck of the draw. If you get one that works you will be wondering how long it will work.

Poor performance for the $$

Jesse F., Newegg
21 November 2008
  • Summary: You CANNOT run with this headset on. It falls off after maybe 20 seconds. I highly recommend buy a different headset. I could have bought a jawbone, or a very nice blueant for what I paid for this. (Halfway between Benjamin and Grant)
  • Pros: This bluetooth headset worked ok for about a month. Sound quality seems to be about average. It's better than my $40 2 year old motorola headset, but only marginally. After cutting a chunk off the foam earbud, I managed to get a tolerable fit, where I can hear and my ear doesn't hurt after severa...
  • Cons: About a month after I bought this, it started randomly turning off, and refused to turn back on until I plug it into the charger. Even then, it sometimes won't turn on until repeatedly plugging and unplugging it into the charger. No, this is not because the batteries dead. Sometimes it does this ...
