Plantronics Savor M1100 Bluetooth Headset

CNET
13 November 2011
  • Summary: The Plantronics Savor M1100 is a powerful little headset with great features, excellent audio quality, and an affordable price tag to boot.
  • Pros: The Plantronics Savor M1100 is small, lightweight, comfortable to wear, and has a dedicated power switch plus a dedicated voice recognition button. It features multipoint, A2DP streaming, voice alerts, and access to Plantronics Vocalyst, an automated phone service that lets you send e-mail, texts, and even tweets just with your voice. The overall audio quality is fantastic as well.
  • Cons: The Plantronics Savor M1100 only has a single volume button. The Vocalyst service is only free for the first year, plus you have to upgrade to the Pro level to get the speech-to-text feature.

  • Conclusion: Bluetooth headsets have been an indispensable aid to the business user. Now considered as commodity items with prices starting below £10 for basic models, one may question the need to pay more. Heavily invested in the field, Plantronics understands that a premium headset needs innovative features to succeed. The Savor M1100 is a simple-looking headset that belies its £50 price tag. Good build quality and a snug in-ear fit are Plantronics' hallmarks.

  • Conclusion: The Plantronics Savor Bluetooth headset doesn't perform quite as well as it should, considering its innovative, 3-mic design; it looks sharp, though, and A2DP and Vocalyst support give it an edge.
  • Pros: Comfortable to wear, and stays put once fitted. Sounds good in the earpiece. Voice-driven interface in two directions. Includes A2DP streaming.
  • Cons: Iffy noise cancellation despite the 3-mic design. Vocalyst services are too expensive. Fiddly volume control. Short battery life.

  • Excerpt: You’re waiting for an important message to come through, and Murphy’s Law dictates that it will arrive while you are behind the wheel driving on the open road at speed. Here’s the Savour M1100 to your rescue! Connect via Bluetooth and you’re good to go. Well almost. Once Bluetooth is done, if you are using an Android or iPhone, you’ll find a ‘Vocalyst’ app on the respective markets, download and install and then after a couple of initial tasks, you’re never alone when on...

Jag är rätt kräsen när det gäller vad jag köper. Bluetooth-headset är en sån sak. Jag har testat Jawbone tidigare, vilket var grymt bra förutom om man har skägg, vilket stör ut hur Jawbone fungerar. Ganska löjligt, men helt sant.
