Summary: I use this headset for gaming and for music production in a home setup. Issues that I have with this headset are not a major fault, just observations from every day use. Got it on shell shocker for over 50% off, so really cannot complain. It was more than worth it. Not sure if I'd pay full price though.
Pros: Good frequency coverage Very good but not overwhelming bass Noise-cancelling Long USB cord High quality microphone
Cons: Bass, while frequency covered well, could be a little better Headset is tighter than most, even after adjusting, and can be discomforting if used more than a couple of hours at a time. Didn't come with 3.5mm option
Summary: I spent $7.50 for a tube of JB Weld, KwikPlastik epoxy and I was able to repair the break. It's not pretty but it saved the headset from the trash. I used about an 1/8th of the tube with most of it applied to the inner side, where the break is. You will have to lift the foam cushion to apply the epoxy where "my" break was, very likely the same place as yours.
Pros: The sound really is good. Not audiophile quality but very good with deep base and the 7.1 really does work good with BF3 and BF4 etc and I can hear them moving around behind me with great accuracy. 5 stars so that everyone will see this problem and solution. Before the breakage I would have given them 5 stars
Cons: They Break I think it's a real shame they have ignored this problem of breaking in the same place for years. They may have been able to corner the market on the 7.1 headsets at a reasonable price.
Pros: Sound is amazing for usb an simulated 7.1. This headset is probably not for accuracy, but rather gaming, movies and music. The bass is huge and the sound range is awesome. If you are going to buy something under 100$, this is the one you want. Its sounds like a 200$ set and its cumfy. The mic is also suprisingly crystal clear.
Cons: Plastics used are very easy to break. Broke one set and had to superglue it and tape it back together. Cheap build quality on the plastics so treat it with extreme care. Fair sacrafice for 80$ set with awesome sound.
Pros: The Plantronics GamCom 780 has loud and clear sound. Not only do you hear everything the way you are suppose to but others hear you with a clean and crisp mic. It has other mics built in to cancel out room noise. Mic can be compared to a professional one. Has nice bass. The 7.1 surround sound can be toggled on and off with a button located on the left ear. It is built to last with its thick cords and durable pieces!
Cons: The only negative side is it is USB which means it will use some CPU/RAM to run the sound drivers. But if you have a good enough PC you will not notice it at all!
Summary: - You can't beat these headsets when they are on sale; although they are my first "more" expensive headsets. I just love the way these headset looks.
Pros: - Virtual 7.1 surround effects sounds awesome (of course not a real 7.1 but nonetheless great) - So far so good; it's comfortable and the cushions on the ears and top of head are soft, kind of feels like those memory foam. First time wearing headsets in about a year and after playing games 3 hours straight with this headset, my ears did not hurt; surprisingly. - The headset clamps on firm; which is better than being on loose. - Plenty of bass, if it's not already too ...
Cons: - Although this headset looks really expensive and looks way better than compared to say like those Turtle Beach headsets, it feels hand on hand about exactly the likes of those. (Some stores now have those Turtle Beach headsets on display and the plastics feels like these; but those headsets are $100+ crazy expensive and doesn't look good/pro like these)
Pros: Better sound quality than over a dozen different headsets I've tested. (Including Beats, Turtle Beach, and Tritton AX 720) 7.1 Surround sound great for 1st person games and strategy games with lots of noises to add to the feel of war. Very Sturdy, not going to break without intention force.
Cons: Needs to be loosened a bit before use if you have a bigger head like me. (Be very careful doing this, I recommend doing this with someone who's done it before successfully or looking up best way to.)
