Summary: If you're looking for a decent headset I would recommend the Plantronics GameCom 377. I like Plantronics so the poor quality of these headphones was surprising and disappointing. I will continue using these until their death.
Pros: In my opinion there are none.
Cons: Honestly, I am torn between product dissatisfaction and the product actually being defective. The sound quality is so poor compared to my less expensive GameCom headset that I honestly am not sure. I play Counter Strike and found the sound oddly muffled. The earmuffs are too small to actually cover my ears properly which I have never experienced. Just plain uncomfortable. I can see why these were on sale.
Cons: I have to take my headset off a lot and there is a very Fragile section of this headset that will crack if you pull a little too hard. My best friend bought one before I could warn him and his cracked as well. I understand I could be extremely delicate with the hesdset but I just feel it shouldn't be an issue. If you do buy it I would reinforce the areas right above where the ear portion swivels.
Summary: The headset is "OK" for 30 minute - 1 hour sessions, but then they start to hurt quite badly, and the sound quality is truly awful. I don't like a pounding bass, but these have none, and you need at least a little bit to create a full sound. The trebs and mids are distorted with any lows at all.
Pros: Metal extensions, sturdy: +1 egg aesthetically cool, red accents: +1 egg
Cons: ear cups very small, clothes pins on ears after 2 hours: -2 eggs buttons feel very delicate and cheap: -1 egg sound quality is terrible, if you know any better: -2 eggs
Summary: Built in breakage, 1 year to 15 months. A shame the plastic will break for many people. Why use cheap plastic and very thin at the point of breakage????? I have tried using krazy glue, maximum hold to fix it with no success. What kind of plastic can't be glued with Krazy Glue?!?. Where it breaks the plastic is VERY thin, not enough surface for the glue to hold vs the weight of the ear pieces. I'll try a good 2 part epoxy tomorrow.
Pros: I bought this elsewhere so I won't show as a verified owner, but I am. I bought this headset for BF3 initially and the sound is good with solid bass. The 7.1 seems to actually work as I am able to hear people coming up behind me with good positional accuracy. 2 stars because the sound is good.
Cons: After 15 months of Very gentle adult use the headband broke right where the logo stops. This is NOT unusual I am finding. After doing a simple search online I have found many, many other people with the exact same breakage dating back to at least 2010. Different models but with the same type of headband and obviously the same cheap plastic. You are forewarned and I hope your one of the lucky ones that gets many years of use from them.
Summary: Ive used a whole tube of super glue so far, if it wasn't for this issue I would give this headset five stars.
Pros: They sound great and fit nicely.
Cons: I go to put the headphones on my head and hear a crack. I repaired the crack with some super glue and it breaks in a different place. Ill consider myself lucky if I make the six month mark with these. My head isn't unusually large.
Pros: Extremely comfortable, dont like taking it off lol, but the headphones are cloth and not plastic leather
Cons: I think I have recieved a faulty one....In the middle of a video, skype call, or game it turns quiet and then the sound just stops working, so i unplug it and plug it back in again and it works....to do the same cycle again. The Headset is extremly comfortable and has great sound, but according to the other reviews, mine was just faulty
Pros: The audio quality, once the drivers are installed, is fantastic. Great lows and mids, but the highs are kind of off. Without true Plantronics drivers installed the sound is still of higher-than-average quality.
Cons: Unfortunately, the great audio only lasts so long. I'm on my third set in 8 weeks. While they're advertised by Plantronics as being durable due to a metal frame, they neglect to mention the plastic clip that holds the two metal frames together. This plastic clip (the cylindrical portion that would be about even with your temples when wearing them) has broken three times now, in the exact same way. This is either a case of shoddy quality control or terrible design. Tha...
