Sound is okay

Barry D., Newegg
20 April 2013
  • Summary: If they didn't break so easily, they would be fine. Bass response is okay but nothing extraordinary. I won't buy this brand again.
  • Pros: Sound good. Comfort is not too bad. Big size fully covers your ears.
  • Cons: CHEAP PLASTIC. It wasn't long after I bought these headphones when the plastic cracked where it joins onto the headband part on the left ear. Glue would not hold this together so I had to fabricate two metal plates and sandwich the section using small bolts to hold it together (I still had to han...

GameCom 777

Scott P., Newegg
25 August 2012
  • Summary: The sound on these is great and the mix is also great, but the quality of the product feels cheap and flimsy. Mine snapped trying to put them on my head so I had to tape them together.
  • Pros: Great sound quality Mic is clear 7.1 USB adapter is nice to use with other headphones
  • Cons: Horribly uncomfortable Fragile

Good While They Worked

David C., Newegg
29 June 2012
  • Summary: When it worked it might have been the best headset I've ever owned but I wasn't thrilled with the mic going out for no discernible reason.
  • Pros: Amazing sound quality - the Dolby USB is fantastic Very very comfortable, can be worn for extended periods of time with no discomfort
  • Cons: I got this product roughly 7 months ago and the mic stopped working yesterday. The sound portion is still fantastic but the mic portion of the headset might not be the best.

Problems within 6 MONTHS, DO NOT BUY

Christian B., Newegg
24 March 2012
  • Pros: Sound is great, very comfortable, moderate use only.
  • Cons: Within first 4 months the wires of the sound card had been exposed due to the set up of my computer. Forgot to send it in so it got worse. Recently my headband had been making cracking noises but I thought that was normal.. About 10 minutes prior to making this review, the headband SNAPPED in hal...

Excellent headset...until it breaks.

Nicholas G., Newegg
14 December 2011
  • Summary: Seriously, there's big forum threads about this exact problem, and Plantronics does nothing. Terrible support for their products. If you want your headset to last for more than a year, get a different one. Otherwise, they're fantastic.
  • Pros: Fantastic sound quality, from the speakers and the microphone alike. Definitely the best quality sound I've ever heard from any headphones. The little USB soundcard is fairly good too. This headset would easily get 5/5 eggs, if it wasn't for the huge con...
  • Cons: As I type, I'm wearing my fourth pair of this headset. Between 3 months, to 1 year, they break, and in exactly the same place. I figured through each purchase they might have updated the design to fix this, but they haven't. The warranty expires after 30 days, and sending them to the factory for ...

Great sound, cheap plastic

Lee R., Newegg
11 December 2011
  • Summary: The headset simulates 5.1 sound, but you really won't notice it much. However, the nicest thing is the USB sound card with standard mic and headset jacks. This means when your headset starts to fall apart after a year you can buy another one and continue using the USB connection!
  • Pros: The sounds are great, and the headset really locks out external noises. The top of the headband is padded and the ears are well padded too. If your room is chilly, these large headphones act as earmuffs as well, so you'll be toasty warm in no time.
  • Cons: If your room is not chilly, you'll be sweating in no time. The plastic that holds the mic started to crack and eventually broke. The dial that controls the volume began to produce static when turned and the sound would cut out in one or both ears at various times. This took more than a year to de...

cheap build quality

mark d., Newegg
14 November 2011
  • Summary: could be a great headset and i could look past the uncomfortableness, just it didnt last one day. maybe its just the one i got but im gonna return it.
  • Pros: -clear audio -nice use of the dolby 7.1 tech
  • Cons: -usb adapter shorted out after 1 day of use (it never moved from my desktop) -uncomfortable, the plastic sheet that houses the speakers rests on my ears and after 1 hour my ears become sore. -took way to long to get it synced and setup (mostly due to the faulty wire)

Expect them to break - guaranteed

Brian S., Newegg
19 September 2011
  • Summary: Obviously this is well known defect and I really wish they would fix the problem and have a product worth owning. Until then, I would personally skip these and go with something else.
  • Pros: Great sounding. No doubt about it, they sound fantastic. Out of the box you will be impressed with the sound quality and feel.
  • Cons: They will break like others have stated no matter how careful you think you're being. I have purchased 2 pair of these from Best Buy (just found newegg looking for some video card reviews) and I thought the first pair was a random flaw. Nope. I bought the second pair and pampered them making sure...

EVERY FREAKING TIME

Harley L., Newegg
29 May 2011
  • Summary: When I purchased these I got them from Best Buy because they were mis-marked at $25 when they were normally $100 (they were supposed to mark the 367's. In closing: I've enjoyed my time with this headset but its a shame that plantronics cant keep their headset from falling apart, I've been wanting a...
  • Pros: Great quality sound, even though theres no such thing as true 7.1 with a headset the USB adapter did provide an obvious sound difference. They're comfortable beyond believe, when my 367's broke (we'll get to them later on) I was rather resistant to get another headset like them, but they were so ...
  • Cons: The microphone pretty poor quality but I got a blue snowball shortly afterwards so no need to worry about that. As I stated previously I owned the 367's around a year prior and they only lasted me around 6 months of normal wear and tear. One day after pulling them off my head the left side snappe...

Faulty design but good quality

Brady C., Newegg
23 May 2011
  • Summary: I have owned 3 sets(technically 4) and all have done the exact same thing. I bought one for my brother, and after 3-4 months the headband snapped right on the "M" on gamecom. I bought one for myself at best buy and the first one came broken in that exact spot out of the box, I returned it and used...
  • Pros: The sound quality is good, the cable is thick and it sits on your head very nicely.
  • Cons: The headband design is VERY poor. I cannot stress this enough, it WILL break. This isn't a "might" or "could" it WILL break, the question is only "when?".
