Not bad

Giovanni M., Newegg
27 June 2011
  • Summary: Not bad for the price. I didn't expect them to last very long at this price. I'm still using them, because they haven't completely failed, but I'm shopping around. I feel like I got my money out of them, so...3 eggs and 'not bad'.
  • Pros: --It still works after a year of use. --It's easy to setup, just plug 'em in. --The microphone sounds good to others in a quiet environment.
  • Cons: --Hurts the tops of my ears, like something hard in construction is pinching them. I don't have an odd shaped head or ears, but your mileage may vary. --Headset sits very heavy, it's padded but not comfortable. One of the least comfortable I've owned. --After about 6 months of use, the left speak...

User Review

Christopher S., Newegg
22 June 2011
  • Summary: I bought these from a local retailer and even when looking at the package in the store, they really looked a lot smaller than they are. These are simply huge (my wife's desktop speakers are smaller than each side of these).
  • Pros: Quality sound for the price Love the ability to tuck the boom away when not in use
  • Cons: Feels like my head is in a vise with these on. Ridiculously big

Not worth your time

Colby L., Newegg
18 June 2011
  • Summary: I bought these about an hour ago. I didnt buy them from Newegg, I bought them from a local store. I am returning them after 5 minutes of usage. Take that for what its worth and dont buy them!
  • Pros: Well, they're affordable I suppose...
  • Cons: Sound quality and comfort are the two most glaring issues. I'll start with sound quality. I'm not an audiophile by any means, so I dont consider myself an expert in these areas. But when I put on Battlefield Bad Company 2, I expect to hear the sounds of war. I expect bass when explosions happen. ...

Best Headset, Best Customer Service.

Jordan S., Newegg
15 June 2011
  • Summary: Go buy now. Don't even think just buy it. Seriously it's only 40 bucks and it's freakin amazing.
  • Pros: This headset is awesome. I got it because my expensive Razer headset broke, and was immediately surprised that it was of equal sound quality, and even more comfortable. The microphone crapped out on me after months(6-8) of putting it up and down(it stripped/started breaking the wire that goes thr...
  • Cons: Does not make me look like Optimus Prime like some old headset I had used to.

NOT BAD

Jeff C., Newegg
11 June 2011
  • Summary: Thought id be ok to but a cheap pair before this one, but for the value its worth it. Bought these at best buy but if you buy it at newegg ull save five bucks
  • Pros: Had the sibera V2, a diff cheap headset and a logitech one. The quality of this one is better and the most comfortable even with a big head. Mic mute
  • Cons: Would perfer a wheel for volume not this side wheel? that you turn three times in a circle to turn on or off

You get what you paid for...kinda

Dennis W., Newegg
26 May 2011
  • Summary: I bought this back in June 2010 when I wanted to replace a really cheap headset that was part of a keyboard/mouse/webcam combo (I got irritated with clip-ons and needed a headset with decent mic quality). I decided to buy this one when my brother bought one himself and seemed to enjoy it.
  • Pros: - Affordable - It does what a pricey headset such as a Razer does for half the price (or even less). - Plantronics wasn't kidding around when they said "Military grade strength wires" - The soft padding adds some comfort
  • Cons: - Feels kinda heavy on the head (I have a bit of a small head) so make sure you're "headstrong" - "Military grade strength wires" doesn't mean great overall quality. The rest of the headphones are made out of some cheap plastic. - After about 6 months, the left side broke (where the screws were) ...

There is a manufacturing flaw

Zachary E., Newegg
23 May 2011
  • Summary: Mine lasted for nearly at $35. I liked them a bunch, but as all cheap things I don't forsee breaking I kept no proof of purchase or packaging after about 2 months so I am up the creek here and knowing now what should have been a clear mechanical weak point from the second they were out of box, I...
  • Pros: They are cheap. That could count for pro or con, because they are definitely made cheaply, but they are definitely not going to break the bank for decent over ear sound. Sound quality is miles better than most basic small desktop speakers, any ipod-type headphones, and even my little baby system ...
  • Cons: Firstly and most important: the headband WILL break. I have read reviews on countless other places where the headband breaks and it's always on the left side at the two screws right above where the mic rests. Mine is nearly broken through, and I will have to bolt it back together with a metal bar...

Flush

Edward K., Newegg
17 May 2011
  • Pros: - Nice budget gaming headset - Good quality - Open ear so I can hear my surroundings - Very comfortable once I got used to them (took about a week to get used to)
  • Cons: - Size (can be a bit clunky) - The adjustable volume control dial on the cord is a bit hard to control

First ever set

Jason J., Newegg
3 May 2011
  • Summary: Fits great, great sound and punch
  • Pros: Very impressed. Gold connectors, great sound, comfortable. Out of the way noise cancelling mic that works very good even with a fan on in the background.
  • Cons: Slight his in the cans but I think that is more or less from the onboard sound X-Fi riser card.
